Boston native, Nneka Ihim, will reportedly join the cast in a full-time role for the upcoming season. The attorney was recently spotted filming alongside Ashley Darby, according to sources.
The newbie is a lawyer who specializes in financial technology. She previously worked as a CNN correspondent and also owns a champagne brand. The University of Wisconsin Law School and University of Michigan graduate is the daughter of philanthropist and renowned interventional cardiologist, Leo Egbujiobi. The Bravo rookie’s family hails from Nigeria.
Nneka Ihim lives with her husband, physician Dr. Ikenna Ihim. Nneka was spotted at Ashley Darby’s housewarming bash, the first cast gathering of the season.
Charrisse Jackson-Jordan was also at the event, but is not expected to land a full time role for Season 8. Also, Mia Thornton’s ex-friend, Jacqueline Blake, will not score a spot on the cast, despite recent rumors that claimed otherwise.
Gizelle Bryant, who is currently appearing on Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, is filming Season 8 while navigating public blowback over comments she made on the podcast she shares with co-star, Robyn Dixon.
The mom of three first landed in hot water earlier this month, for using a gay slur during a a discussion about the Jussie Smollet hate crime hoax.
“He staged a hate crime,” she said, during the April 3 episode of the Reasonably Shady podcast. “They were supposed to put a noose around his neck; they were supposed to call him ‘f–got’ or something … gay empire boy or something.”
Robyn Dixon, 44, responded with a sigh, before Gizelle, 52, continued — “They were supposed to scream that. These were the words that Jussie gave the [attackers] to do.”
A week later fans ripped the Bravo star for making an antisemitic remark during another podcast exchange.
Gizelle joked about “who’s paying” to go to Drake’s concerts during a chat with her co-host about the rapper’s pricey tickets.
“The Rubinsteins,” the Bravo star quipped, using a common Jewish surname. “They are paying for their little child and their friends to go.”
Robyn agreed, commenting, “Right,” through laughter.
Fans called out Gizelle’s comment on social media, with one person writing — “My jaw dropped. This is awful, she should not have a microphone.”
Another listener chimed in — “Um, wow. Repeating tropes like this is the most insidious way of spreading antisemitism. Bye, girls.”
The reality star was also labeled “disgusting” and “unbelievable” for the gaffe, and many fans called for the duo to “do better.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 8 is currently in production.
