Marc Daly Demands Kenya Moore’s House and Half Her Money In Nasty Court Battle, His Attorney Wants Off The Case
Marc Daly, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore, has been abandoned by his lawyer just a few weeks before their scheduled legal confrontation.
Marc Daly’s lawyer, Regina Edwards, submitted a request to withdraw from the case, according to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com.
According Marc’s former attorney, he has a period of 10 days to contest her motion. In addition, Edwards mentioned that Marc will be in charge of making arrangements for the trial and engaging a new lawyer.
Although the trial is set for May 22, 2023, the lawyer pointed out that her withdrawal will not have any impact on the scheduled proceedings.
As reported, Kenya Moore initiated divorce proceedings against Marc in May 2021. In her filing, she stated that the separation had occurred on September 19, 2019, and they had been living apart since then.
According to the Bravo celebrity, there was no possibility of reconciliation as their marriage had irreparably broken down. The pair has a daughter named Brooklyn who was born in 2018.
Marc Daly consented to the divorce and agreed to allow Kenya to have primary custody. Nevertheless, he insisted on having joint legal custody.
Prior to the divorce filing, Kenya filed a custody suit for their daughter, Brooklyn. In the course of the dispute, Marc tried to prevent Brooklyn, 4, from participating in the filming of The Real Housewives of Atlanta without his permission.
Kenya contended that her profession necessitated her to showcase her personal life, which included her daughter Brooklyn. The judge eventually granted Kenya permission to film, but ruled that Marc should have some influence over the footage that she shot.
The judge stated that there was no proof to indicate that Kenya would put Brooklyn in any situation that could be detrimental to the child’s well-being, or that could be deemed as hazardous or unsuitable.
Further, the order stated, “The evidence has further shown that if [Kenya] is not able to involve the minor child, that it could negatively impact her ability to make money, or even be employed.”
As part of the divorce proceedings, Marc argued that he was entitled to a portion of Kenya Moore’s Atlanta mansion. However, the residence was purchased by the reality diva before their marriage.
Additionally, Marc requested that Kenya cover his legal expenses incurred in the case. The lawsuit is still ongoing.
Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta premieres Sunday, May 7 at 8/7c. That same night, Bravo’s new series, Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard, also premieres at 9/8c. Catch all new episodes next day on Peacock.
