‘Basketball Wives’ Brittish Williams Begs Judge To Postpone Fraud Trial and Seeks Plea Deal

Basketball Wives star, Brittish Williams, has requested that a judge postpone her criminal trial to give her time to strike an eleventh hour plea deal.

Radar Online obtained court documents that state that the VH1 star begged a Missouri judge to push back her April 17 trial date.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri indicted the reality star on federal charges in 2021. Brittish was accused of misusing a social security number, bank fraud, wire fraud, making false statements to the IRS and aggravated identity theft. The reality TV personality pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The indictment claimed that the 33-year-old used fake social security numbers to obtain lines of credit and loans from several banks in 2017. She was also accused of depositing counterfeit checks into bank accounts without the account holder’s knowledge and withdrawing the money before banks could realize the checks were fraudulent.

Last month, court documents revealed that the government intended to “present a superseding Indictment to a Grand Jury before the trial date for additional charges.” Prosecutors did not specify the nature of the charges.

The reality star’s attorney responded to the update, telling Radar — “The government continues to make allegations that far exceed any actual evidence in their possession. Whatever the new charges may be, we look forward to addressing them.”

Brittish reportedly hopes to hammer out a last minute plea deal, per the new filing.

Her attorney stated — “The parties believe that a plea agreement can be reached if the government has time to obtain some necessary approvals, and thereby avoid the need for a superseding indictment. A continuance of the trial date provides that time.”

Government prosecutors and the reality star both agreed to continue the trial, but Brittish and the feds have not always been on the same page. The government even wanted the VH1 star tossed in jail for supposedly violating a court order when she crossed state lines.

Prosecutors told the court that a separate investigation was underway involving accusations of fraud relating to a car accident claim. The judge denied the request, allowing Brittish to remain free on bond. The court even granted her request to have her ankle monitor removed.

The reality star alleged that the monitor was hindering her work as a model, and claimed that she had to turn down an offer by Rihanna brand, Savage X Fenty, because she could not pose in lingerie with the monitor on her leg.

“This lost opportunity cost Ms. Williams at least $30,000 with additional payments that would have been available for Instagram appearances and posts,” her lawyer said.

Her attorney added — “The producers of [Basketball Wives] do not want the ankle monitor to be visible. This creates stark limitations on the outfits and costuming that Ms. Williams can utilize. Ms. Williams does not engage in work for which she gets to choose her own outfits and clothes.”
