CNN TRASHES Tucker Carlson Over His Donald Trump Interview
CNN slammed their primetime rival, Tucker Carlson, after the Fox News personality sat down for an interview with former President Donald Trump. Carlson traveled to Mar-a-Lago to hold the first interview with the former president since he was indicted in Manhattan, last week.
CNN trashed the popular nighttime news host for not displaying the “courage” to challenge the former POTUS regarding several “eyebrow raising” remarks he made during the interview, which aired Tuesday night.
“For a man caricatured as an extremist, we think you’ll find what he has to say moderate, sensible, and wise,” Carlson told viewers before Fox aired the interview.
Carlson ridiculed the “neocon media establishment” for painting Trump as a “dangerous lunatic,” but CNN pointed out that the Fox News personality failed to confront the former president on several remarks that might make him look like a “dangerous lunatic.”
“Carlson made no effort to press the disgraced president on any of the issues that an actual news anchor would,” CNN reported. “It’s all an act.”
President Trump surprised viewers when he described his surroundings during his arrest, claiming that people were “crying” when he was “signed in” and at a Manhattan court, last Tuesday.
“When I went to the courthouse which is also a prison in a sense, they signed me in and I’ll tell you people were crying,” Trump told Carlson.
“People that work there. Professionally work there that have no problems putting in murderers and they see everybody,” Trump continued. “It’s a tough, tough place and they were crying. They were actually crying. They said: ‘I’m sorry.’”
Carlson previously confessed that he “hates” the embattled former president “passionately” in private messages exposed as a part of Dominion Voting System’s $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News.
Private messages revealed that Carlson once believed that Trump was a “disgusting” and “demonic force” but the Fox News host was seemingly impressed as he spoke to the former Commander in Chief about various foreign policy issues, during Tuesday’s interview.
“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights,” Carlson privately told a FNC producer after the 2020 election. “I truly can’t wait.”
