Ryan Edwards Arrested For DUI and Drug Possession Fresh Out of Rehab
Ryan Edwards, former Teen Mom star was taken into police custody for violating his parole conditions. On April 7, the Chattanooga State police arrested Ryan Edwards.
Ryan Edwards has a history of legal and substance abuse issues and had previously been incarcerated for possession of heroin.
The 35-year-old, who has a long-standing association with MTV, was allegedly harassing his estranged wife, Mackenzie Edwards, 27, which led to his confrontation with the authorities.
Last month, the beleaguered celebrity, who has a history of substance abuse issues, checked himself into rehab for drug addiction while being under probation for a year.
This occurred after he admitted to a harassment charge and was mandated to complete treatment while also being forbidden from communicating with his estranged spouse.
In addition, the judge ordered Ryan to wear a GPS monitor and abstain from making any online posts about Mackenzie.
In violation of an order of protection, Ryan was arrested last month for stalking his estranged wife, Mackenzie, by sending her text messages.
As reported, On March 1, the ex-reality TV personality was taken into police custody for stalking, which was a breach of an order of protection in Hamilton County, Tennessee.
As per official records, Edwards sent several text messages to his estranged wife, Mackenzie, after being informed on February 10 that it was illegal for him to have any communication with her.
“My god I don’t haven’t to live my life without you! Sorry! ” He text on February 19.
On February 23, the father of three contacted her once again by sending a message that stated, “For what it’s worth, I’m sorry, and I do miss you.”
Ryan’s arrest occurred a few days after his estranged wife, Mackenzie, filed for divorce, received a restraining order against him, and was awarded temporary custody of their two children, Jagger, 5, and Stella, 2.
The police stated in a press release that the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office served Ryan with an Order of Protection on February 9, which instructed him to leave the residence where his wife was residing immediately.
The next day, Mackenzie visited the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to file a complaint against her estranged spouse, alleging that he had posted explicit pictures of her on his Instagram account and accused her of infidelity.
“If you guys have never seen a spineless s*** this is one,” Ryan was alleged to have written along with a picture of his estranged wife topless.
He added: “They take your money sleep with anything that looks at them. But they must have a wife to [sic]. God what a joke. It’s sad really.”
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Ryan had violated the order of protection by communicating with his father-in-law, as stated by the authorities.
During the inquiry into the breach, law enforcement officials uncovered a harassment warrant against Ryan filed by MacKenzie with the Chattanooga Police Department. Consequently, the police arrested him at his workplace for both the harassment warrant and the breach of the order of protection, as well as for possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance.
After the controversial social media post, Mackenzie notified the authorities of various domestic violence incidents that he had been involved in since they got married in 2017. They had met at a gym in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
As per Mackenzie’s statement to the police, her estranged spouse had punched holes in the walls and doors during their altercation last month and had even held her up against the wall by her neck. She further accused him of throwing her down the hallway and saying that if he couldn’t have her, no one could. Additionally, she claimed that he had pulled out his pocket knife and pressed it against her back as if to threaten her life.
Mackenzie asserted that the entire episode had occurred in front of their children.
‘I tried to leave, he smashed my phone, took my car keys,’ Mackenzie said, adding that a co-worker contacted the authorities in the wake of the incident.
According to Mackenzie’s statement to the police, Ryan was violent towards her again a week later. She recounted that he had entered their bedroom while she was lying down and pretended to punch her face while shouting at her. When he broke the bed she was in, Mackenzie attempted to gather her children and leave, but Ryan didn’t let her go. In the living room, he allegedly threw her down and then threw menthol nicotine in her eyes. Subsequently, Mackenzie was awarded a temporary restraining order.
