‘RHONJ’ Fans Drag Dolores Catania For Ozempic Weight Loss Admission

Dolores Catania has no shame in her weight loss game. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star told Andy Cohen during a Wednesday appearance on Watch What Happens Live that she had been using Ozempic to drop pounds for six weeks.

Dolores Catania joked that “not one” of her cast mates is not taking semaglutide for the very same reason.

“I wasn’t going to come to the reunion looking any bigger than anyone else, so I got on the bandwagon,” Dolores admitted.

When Cohen questioned Dolores about the Ozempic’s side effects, she replied — “Just not hungry.”

Dolores clarified that she is “actually [taking] Mounjaro.”

Real Housewives of Miami star, Marysol Patton, who appeared alongside Dolores, called Mounjaro “the amped-up version, the fast forward to Skinnyville,” and the RHONJ star agreed. Dolores added that she takes pride in always “telling the truth.”

She added — “The reunion is in two weeks. I do have a trainer.”

Fans reacted to Dolores’ confession on Twitter and the opinions were mixed.

One person called the reality star’s decision “unhealthy and triggering” while another called it “selfish” as the drug is in short supply for those who use it to treat Type 2 diabetes.

Some viewers commended Andy Cohen for not “buying into the whole new gym routine and watching what I eat BS” from body conscious reality stars.

One fan pointed out — “They are on tv, heavily scrutinized for their appearance, of course they’d take a weight loss peptide if available.”

On Tuesday, Margaret Josephs credited peptide use and hormone therapy for dropping 22 pounds. Jennifer Fessler also hinted that she was using Ozempic, in March.

Jackie Goldschneider took a public stand against using the drug to lose weight in February, during an appearance on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.

“You should know that I can talk about Ozempic all day. It gets me so fired up,” the 46-year-old said. “I’m horrified by it.”

Jackie opened up about her battle with an eating disorder during past seasons of RHONJ.

“There’s going to be a lot of people with eating disorders. … You start dropping massive amounts of weight. That’s so addicting. That’s how I spiraled into anorexia,” she continued.

She explained that the current fascination with semaglutide, marketed under names such as Ozempic and Wegovy, had been difficult to process.

Jackie noted that she wasn’t claiming to know any specific users of the drug, but added that she once “looked up to some people” who she felt “had a very normal relationship with food” — who now use Ozempic to stay thin. She noted that the popular diet shortcut had “opened [her] eyes” and “made [her] even more disgusted” with the weight loss industry.

In February, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Kyle Richards, was accused of using the fad drug to slim down after she splashed photos of her trimmer physique on social media. The 54-year-old Bravo veteran shut down speculation after fans began to swap theories about her weight loss secret.

“I’ve never tried Ozempic, none of those diet drugs,” she told Page Six, at the time. “And now hearing that diabetics can’t even get their hands on it, it would be extremely irresponsible to do that, so it’s extra offensive to me.”
