‘RHOBH’ Newbie Annemarie Wiley’s Husband Unapologetic Over His Anti-Trans Views
Bravo is looking to shake things up on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, with the reported addition of former NFL star, Marcellus Wiley’s wife, Annemarie, to the Season 13 cast.
The athlete turned sports commentator holds views on certain hot-button topics that will likely spark controversy among the liberal leaning cast, as filming season rolls on.
Marcellus, who shares four daughters with Annemarie, played on the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars over the span of his 10 year NFL career. The former football star has come out strongly against transgender women competing against his kids.
Marcellus aligned himself with the views of Caitlyn Jenner, when he explained his position on Twitter.
“I have no issue with transgenders. I do have an issue with athletes who are transgendered trying to participate going from a transition of a man to a woman and now playing with the women,” Marcellus tweeted in January. “And, I will say that. You all can try to Dave Chappelle me all you want. I am very clear on this. You can be a transgender. You can be the homie, but I’ll be damned if a male at birth turns into a female and tries to compete against my daughters. She ain’t out there. We out.”
Marcellus pointed out — “Don’t make this a human rights issue – this is a biological issue. Simple as that. Trust me, I am a man.”
He concluded — “I hate saying fair. It’s not even right. Forget fair, it’s not right.”
Some Bravo viewers pointed out that both Marcellus and Annemarie follow outspoken conservative commentator, Candace Owens. The former pro athlete also follows popular podcaster, Joe Rogan.
RHOBH fans appear to be divided, with many taking their opinions on the issue to social media.
One fan tweeted — “People are allowed to have their thoughts, priorities and opinions. They don’t have to agree with anyone..glad to have differences.”
Other fans suspected that the RHOBH newbie won’t really be alone, and that some of the other women secretly support similar views.
One asked — “Hmmm well she will fit right in with the majority of the white MAGA Housewives or maybe she is kyle’s MIL bestie?”
Another quipped — “She’ll fit in well with Sutton.”
Another commented — “they’re about to cancel your girl before she even starts filming.”
Sources told PEOPLE that despite her husband’s political leanings, Annemarie will likely blend well with the group of Bravo women.
“She’s got such a lovable personality, lives an active, full life and is married to a great husband with an adorable family life. She’s a hard-working mom. She’s going to be a great fit,” the insider said.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is currently in production.
