‘Vanderpump Rules’ Scandal: Andy Cohen Talks Red Flags In Raquel Leviss and Tom Sandoval Affair

Before the revelation of the affair between Raquel Leviss and Tom Sandoval — Andy Cohen had already noticed some red flags.

The host of the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen talk show had observed some strange behavior from the couple during his interactions with them and spoke about the scandal during the March 6 broadcast of Radio Andy. 

Just hours before the news broke, Raquel Leviss revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she found Tom Sandoval, 39, cuter than Tom Schwartz, whom she had previously kissed. Andy Cohen was caught off guard by this statement.

“I looked up and said to Raquel, ‘Oh you said Sandoval, hmm,’ and then we moved on,” Cohen said on Monday’s episode of SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live.”

During the commercial break, Cohen disclosed that Raquel’s co-star Scheana Shay had questioned the 28-year-old about her unexpected response.

“Scheana said to – I guess Scheana’s antena was up – and Scheana said to Raquel, ‘You know I only picked Sandoval, because I knew that you were gonna pick Schwartz,’ and Raquel said, ‘Well Sandoval has abs’ and kind of shrugged, so you know that was interesting.”

Andy Cohen revealed during an interview with People that he had sensed something was off between the two when they appeared on his show. He said, “There was just a weird vibe between them.”

Although Andy Cohen initially didn’t pay much attention to the incident, he later messaged Shay, who is 37 years old, for more information after news of Raquel and Sandoval’s affair broke on Friday. However, Cohen didn’t reveal the exact details of what Shay told him.

“I thought it was odd,” Cohen admitted.

During the conversation, Andy Cohen, 54, brought up Sandoval and Schwartz’s appearance on Watch What Happens Live on February 8.

“When Schwartz was on with Sandoval on premiere night, there was some odd energy between them,” Cohen dished. “Schwartz was looking at Sandoval the entire time – almost for guidance on answers.”

Cohen was left with an uneasy feeling after the strange episode, causing him to question when Schwartz had learned about the affair. The father of two also mentioned that Leviss, Madix, and himself had all attended a performance by Sandoval’s band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, during BravoCon in October.

The news of the affair caused shockwaves among the cast and fans of the reality show, with many expressing their disappointment in Sandoval’s behavior.

Despite the drama, Cohen remains a supportive friend to Raquel Leviss and Sandoval, stating that he wishes them all the best. He said, “I like them both, and I hope that they’re happy.”

“I was at that show, and I’m standing there, and Raquel’s standing behind me, and Ariana Madix’s in front of me, and you can see how they’re both looking at Sandoval. It’s wild,” Cohen continued.

On Thursday, Andy Cohen disclosed that he had been made aware of the affair just a day after Raquel Leviss and Shay’s appearance on his talk show. The author expressed his distress, disbelief, and sadness over the revelation, and also confirmed that Bravo cameras have been documenting the entire ordeal, which will be aired before the reunion in two weeks.

On Friday, Ariana Madix, who had been in a relationship with Sandoval since 2014, ended things with him after discovering that he was involved in a “full-on affair” with Raquel Leviss. Ariana found sexually explicit footage of Raquel on Sandoval’s phone on Wednesday night.
