Eminem SHUTS DOWN Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon For Stealing His Trademark
Real Housewives of Potomac stars Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant tried to pull a fast one on famous rapper, Eminem and were quickly shut down.
According to documents, the Grammy-winning superstar filed an opposition against Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon’s trademark application for their podcast, Reasonably Shady.
Reasonably Shady’s official description reads — “The podcast features conversations about being fearless women as they recount stories from their exciting lives. Topics include dating, relationships, marriage, entrepreneurs, motherhood, style, glam, current events, and more.”
According to the paperwork, the 50-year-old rapper believes his brand will be damaged if the trademark is granted and that it may cause confusion for fans who know him by his Slim Shady and Shady monikers.
Since 1996, Eminem (born Marshall Mathers) has exclusively used the terms “Shady” and “Slim Shady”. In addition, he owns the trademark for both merch and records.
“The marks Slim Shady and Shady have become and are an extremely valuable symbol of Mathers, his reputation and goodwill,” the doc reads.
According to the Patent and Trademark Office, Robyn, 43, and Gizelle, 52, filed a trademark application for their podcast’s name a year ago. In 2021, the reality stars launched the podcast.
Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon think it’s a stretch to think that listeners will associate this show and its merchandise with Eminem.
Gizelle and Robyn have until March 26, 2023 to respond formally to Eminem’s trademark opposition.
In November, the “Mockingbird” rapper was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In his acceptance speech, he discussed his unique position within the organization.
“So I’m probably not supposed to actually be here tonight because of a couple of reasons. One of them that I’m a rapper, and this is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And there’s only a few of us right now that have been inducted in already, but there’s only a few of us,” said the rapper.
He continued, “Secondly, I almost died from an overdose in 2007, which kind of sucked. Hailie, plug your ears: because drugs were f—ing delicious, and I thought we had a good thing going man, but I had to go and f— it all up and take too many. God damn. OK Hailie.”
Real Housewives of Potomac’s green-eyed bandits cause trouble every season, and Season 7 was no exception. As friends and business partners, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon are a match made in heaven and have taken quite a few L’s this season and the hits just keep coming. Robyn’s husband Juan was outed by a side chick, while Gizelle was accused of trying to ruin Candiace Dillard Bassett’s marriage, and both ladies were labeled colorist.
Gizelle and Robyn both blamed editing for their bad behavior.
