‘1000-lb Sisters’ Cast CHEAP Salaries Revealed …. They’re Ready To QUIT!
The cast of 1000-lb Sisters is ready to walk, amid a dispute over what the family is paid to appear in the TLC series. Tammy Slaton, her sister, Amy Halterman, her half-brother, Chris Combs, and her half-sister, Amanda all believe that they should be bringing in more money and appear ready to quit, per a report by the U.S. Sun.
Tammy, who has appeared most frequently in recent seasons, only brings in $2-$3k per episode, according to a source close to the Slaton family. The tipster clarified that Tammy spent all of her earnings from the series to pay for her 14 months in weight loss rehab, with no financial help from the network.
Amanda, who joined the cast during Season 3, reportedly earns only $700 per month, for her role on the show. The snitch added that Tammy’s sister, Amy, earns the most because of her two sons, Gage, 2, and seven-month-old Glenn, who both have contracts. Amy set up college fund accounts where the boys’ paychecks are deposited, according to the family insider.
The family members also have issues over how producers are telling their story, which they claim is inaccurate. A source alleged that all filmed “serious” conversations between cast members are ultimately axed from the narrative.
All cast members, including Tammy’s new husband, Caleb Willingham, have signed contracts to film the second half of the season, and are barred from accepting any commercial opportunities. Production has not kicked off for Season 4 Part B, although a cast trip to Greece is currently being discussed. Tammy’s pal does not believe that the all-expenses paid luxury trip will be enough to keep the family tied to the network.
The insider claimed that Tammy and her family are already in talks with a different production company about potentially starring in a spinoff series. The source added that the clan would rather start over with a new show than experience an extravagant trip to Greece.
While the Greece trip remains a question mark, Tammy is reportedly excited to travel after completing a 14-month stint in rehab. She is able to sit in a vehicle’s front seat normally and no longer needs an adjusted space to allow extra room. Tammy is standing for short periods of time and continues to work toward taking longer walks and driving her own car.
Tammy left the facility nearly 300 pounds lighter after abstaining from alcohol, smoking, and vaping for nine months.
She now weighs 400 pounds, after once tipping the scales at 700 pounds. The TLC star checked back into rehab early last year amid a battle for her health.
“When Tammy was first in rehab, she needed to reach her goal weight of 550 pounds from around 700 pounds in order to be approved for her bariatric surgery,” a friend told the same outlet.
Tammy underwent the procedure in the summer of 2022 and dropped an additional 150 pounds, after reaching her goal weight.
