Chris Bassett Blasts Robyn Dixon For Backpedaling At ‘RHOP’ Reunion

Candiace Dillard’s husband, Chris Bassett, blasted Robyn Dixon for being a hypocrite — and called her out for backpedaling during the The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion.

According to Gizelle Bryant, Chris Bassett made her feel uncomfortable at last season’s reunion during a private discussion. The Real Housewives of Potomac star claims the close door conversation with a married man was inappropriate.

In addition, Ashley Darby claimed that Chris made a pass at her friend at Karen Huger’s event. Gizelle added that Chris fondled Ashley’s friend but later recanted — claiming she misheard Ashley’s allegations.

Originally, Robyn Dixon disagreed with her bestie Gizelle’s assertion that Chris behaved inappropriately. During a lunch meeting with Candiace and Chris — Robyn reassured the couple that she did not believe the claims made by best friend. Chris has categorically denied any wrongdoing against Gizelle and Ashley’s friend. Candiace and Chris thanked Robyn for her support, so it was a huge surprise when she changed her stance during the Season 7 Real Housewives of Potomac reunion.

During Part 1 of the Season 7 reunion, the cast rehashed Gizelle and Chris’ drama. Robyn said, “Can we agree that a married man shouldn’t be in a hotel room with a single woman? ”

Chris Bassett was not pleased with Robyn’s new perspective and responded via Twitter.

“Robyn ain’t **** for this comment…this COMPLETELY contradicts everything you said at lunch with Candiace and I…and after everything that has come out AFTER the reunion….let me go pay for some rando’s hotel room…I’ll be right back 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️.” Chris wrote in response to fan posting a clip from the reunion.

In light of recent developments in Robyn’s marriage to Juan Dixon, social media exploded with a litany of responses from fans. 

One person wrote, “But it’s ok for a married men to pay for hotels for a single woman ?” Another commented, “Robyn and Gizelle looked foolish in part 1 of the reunion. Glad that Candiace didn’t accept the apology.”

Someone else tweeted, “robyn has used you and Candiace to deflect from her own issues-its repugnant what happened to you and candiace this season-you have a real marriage that people should not mess with-we all saw through this “storyline” instantly.”

Shortly after the Season 7 reunion was filmed, Robyn fessed up to knowing about an affair Juan had during the pandemic with a Canadian woman. Robyn hid this juicy secret from RHOP cameras but chose to monetize the info on her podcast after filming wrapped.

During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live —  Robyn’s boss, Andy Cohen, ripped her for withholding Juan’s infidelity from her RHOP storyline.

“You withhold the truth on the reality show that you’re on but then you sell it behind a paywall,” Andy told Robyn, Sunday night.

Robyn replied — “Well I talked about it on the free podcast and I didn’t withhold.”

Robyn claimed that she only spoke out about the betrayal because the other woman produced receipts, via a blog.

“This information was given like last week or the week before on a blog,” she stated. “She was telling lies and I felt I needed to correct the lies.”

The woman produced a receipt that proved that Juan had paid for a hotel room — but Robyn insisted that the payment did not incriminate her then-fiancé.

Robyn explained — “She lives in Canada. Canada was clearly on a strict lockdown during the pandemics so the hotel receipt comes into play because for whatever reason, she decided that she wanted to fly to Maryland. And she had told Juan that she was dating a Baltimore Ravens player. So she’s telling him she’s flying to Maryland and he’s like ‘Okay whatever.’ But somewhere along the way, she gets to Maryland, she’s reaching out to him. She tells him she lost her wallet in the casino and she cannot pay for her hotel room so he feels bad for her.”

“Apparently she was like, really stressed out, really distraught. He goes to the hotel, puts his card down at the counter and that’s it,” she added.

Robyn claimed that the encounter was the only time that Juan had met the woman in person, before admitting that the story sounded like “bullsh*t.”

“When I found out about it, it sounded like BS to me but he was very … I believe him. And also based on like, what she revealed last week, I believe him,” the Bravo star said.

Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Potomac reunion airs on February 26, at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.
