Tammy Slaton Released From Rehab After 300 Pound Weight Loss

Tammy Slaton has returned home to Kentucky after more than 14 months in an Ohio rehab facility for obesity.

Tammy left the facility nearly 300 pounds lighter after abstaining from alcohol, smoking, and vaping for nine months. The 36-year-old star returned home, and has now begun walking longer distances, driving without certain seat adjustments, and standing for short periods of time.

At the end of 2021, Tammy checked into a rehab facility after displaying “reckless” behavior. In the 1000-lb Sisters Season 4 teaser, Tammy’s family, including her sister and co-star Amy Slaton, revealed that before entering the treatment center, Tammy’s body was “shutting down.”

Tammy currently weighs around 400 pounds — down from 700 pounds when she entered the rehab center. In a series of selfies she posted on social media recently, she revealed her slimmer appearance.

By the end of the summer, Tammy underwent bariatric surgery and was still recovering. She returned to the treatment facility in Ohio after completing the surgery, where medical staff monitored her health and ensured she stayed on her diet. During Tammy’s treatment, nurses monitored her trach as well, since she had surgery to shrink the size of her tracheostomy opening.

While receiving medical care in rehab, Tammy found love and got married to husband Caleb Willingham in November. Caleb is also a patient in rehab.

There were about 30 guests at Tammy and Caleb’s wedding, including Amy, which took place inside the rehabilitation center.

“You all knew me as Tammy Slaton, but now you’ll all know me as Mrs. Tammy Willingham,” she told People after making things official with Caleb. “I’m married now!”

Caleb was originally scheduled to leave the facility before Tammy but still needs to lose some weight before reaching his goal. But he has plans to transfer to a facility near Henderson, Kentucky, to be close to his wife again.

As reported, while Tammy Slaton resided in the rehab center, thieves broke into her home and stole everything — even the kitchen sink.

During the Feb. 7 episode of 1000-lb Sisters, Tammy’s sisters — Misty and Amanda discover Tammy’s house has been raided by burglars and stripped bare of all her possessions.

Upon making entry to Tammy’s home “to pick up some things she wanted,” the sisters notice right away that something is terribly wrong.

“Girl, all of her stuff is gone!” Amanda exclaims. “Oh, this is some bulls–t. Hold on, I’m going to take a video of this s–t real quick.”

After surveying the damage, Amanda and Misty realize the extent of the theft.

“The fridge was over here,” Amanda says, while taking video on her phone. “The table was here. The kitchen sink’s gone. The bathroom sink. The water heater’s missing. Her dresser that was in here was gone with the rest of the clothes and sh-t that was in it.”
