Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker’s Friendship Ended Over JEALOUSLY!
90 Day Fiancé fans were sad to learn that longtime friends and Pillow Talk duo, Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker, had ended their friendship. A source has now come forward to give the inside scoop on what led to the pair’s falling out after a two-decades-long friendship.
“Molly is the one who did most of the work and Cynthia did nothing. She’s upset that she won’t be making that Pillow Talk money any longer,” an insider told In Touch. “[Cynthia] resented Molly for being the star of the show and Cynthia was just a sidekick.”
Molly debuted on 90 Day Fiancé during Season 5 amid a tumultuous relationship with her now ex-husband, Luis Mendes. Fans loved the fun friendship that Molly shared with Cynthia, so the pair were recruited to recap various 90 Day episodes on Pillow Talk in 2019. Cynthia, who founded LiviRae Lingerie with Molly back in 2006, confirmed that their friendship had hit the skids while responding to a fan on social media, who asked why she no longer appeared alongside Molly on the 90 Day spinoff.
Cynthia revealed that she and Molly were “no longer friends.”
She added — “I will not be back on Pillow Talk. I wish I had a different answer for you.”
The pair’s friendship crashed the same month as Molly and her then-boyfriend, Kelly Brown, 43, ended their two-year relationship. Molly and Kelly split after an alleged physical altercation occurred between Kelly and Molly’s eldest daughter, Olivia Hopkins. The incident reportedly took place on November 21, 2022, at LiviRae Lingerie. In Touch obtained a Cobb County, Georgia police report, filed on February 2, that described the incident.
Kelly and Olivia were seemingly arguing over her boyfriend when things took a violent turn.
The report stated — “Kelly rushed to the counter, grabbed Olivia by her neck and slammed her against the wall.”
Olivia told the authorities that she was unable to provide security footage from that day because Cynthia was the only person who had “access” to it.
Kelly, a New York native, denied the altercation.
“I never punched her or threatened her with any weapon. I really want to be left alone,” Kelly told the outlet, via a statement.“I don’t bother them or even go in their town. I don’t want anything to do with them. It’s over, I haven’t been near them since November.”
Cynthia spoke out six days later, in her own statement.
“I am deeply mortified and want my name to be removed from the report. I will be telling investigators all of this as I do not want to be listed anywhere on this!” she said. “I have tried to remain quiet and let this play out but now they are involving me and I am not going to sit back as my name gets misconstrued.”
In December, Molly confirmed that she was “not concerned with any negativity” amid the chatter over her broken friendship with Cynthia.
“Molly is focused on doing her right now and doesn’t have the energy or time to discuss the fallout with Cynthia,” the TLC star’s rep said. “She is immersed in her business and charity work and wants to remain centered on her goals.”
