After showing signs of serious mental illness, Katie was fired from the Bravo reality series. Her life spiraled out of control after her departure from RHOP.

Katie was previously married to James Orsini, whom she divorced in 2016. The former couple shares three children together, a son, James Rocco, and twin daughters, Renee and Kathryn. She lost custody of kids in the divorce. She’s known to post disturbing messages on social media —suggesting that she may have suffered from drug abuse.

The model opened up on Instagram about going into rehab because of her addiction to Adderall and alcohol. Katie began in her post on October 22, “I’m going to Rehab for 30 days to kick alcohol and Adderall in a medical setting. I’m so thankful and I will share my journey… there is no shame in admitting you have been prescribed things and those things are now hurting you physically.” She continued, “There is no shame in being honest. And I’d appreciate it if people who don’t think my Black Jewish Life Matters would F-off. (We ain’t Kanye fans ova here).”

She added, “If you can’t handle it. Please, find the exit sign cause this is not something shameful. I will be telling the truth the whole way … I’ve been on this crap since I was 12 years old because of ADHD.” she continued, “That’s not my fault . And I love my real friends and I have NO TIME for haters as I get well. Okay #katievibes are about love, real love.” In another update, Katie shared a photo of herself in the hospital and explained she had experienced another seizure in early October.

After numerous very disturbing social media posts and a near death experience back in October 2022, Katie expressed interest in returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac. She apologized to Andy Cohen and asked him if she could get her old job back. She wrote, “I would like to issue a public apology, for statements I made that weren’t cool in the past to Andy Cohen. And I do want a job. And I swear I will totally behave. I’m also sorry for my temper tantrums. I feel no thirst. I just want to work.”

“I’m so thankful and I will share my journey there is no shame in admitting you have been prescribed things and now those things are hurting you physically. There is no shame in being honest,” she wrote. Katie continued, “Mental Health and Rehab wellness is not a joke. It’s a process and as I start mine, it may get interesting and if you can’t handle it please find the exit sign because this is not something shameful.”

She frequently raised issues of race and skin tone on the show – always letting people know she was “biracial.” She once told her castmates, “My skin tone doesn’t define me, my teaching at home does. My parents never put down one race in order to elevate the other. I was raised by special parents and dynamite grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles and cousins. Great upbringing.”

Now she’s finally getting her life back on track – but she’s starting from scratch.

The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 7 finale airs Sunday, Feb 5 at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.
