Mykelti Brown Claims Meri’s Daughter Heard ‘Sister Wives’ Star Having ‘Intimate Affair’ with Catfish

Mykelti Brown Padron has alleged that Meri’s child, Leon, overheard the Sister Wives star having an “intimate affair” with a person who turned out to be an internet catfish. 

Mykelti, daughter of Kody and ex, Christine Brown, and her husband, Tony Padron, answered fan questions during a recent Crowdcast Live, via Patreon. A clip shared by Instagram account, Without a Crystal Ball, addressed the 2015 catfish scandal, which proved to be the beginning of the end of Meri and Kody’s spiritual marriage. 

In 2014, Kody and Meri divorced, which allowed Kody to legally wed his fourth wife, Robyn, and adopt her three children from a previous marriage. The divorce shifted Meri and Kody’s marriage to the “spiritual” category, which seemingly led the mom of one to an online romance with a man named “Sam Cooper.” The duo swapped flirty messages on Twitter before taking their budding romance private. The catfish, who was eventually outed as a woman, leaked sexually suggestive images of Meri, letters, and damning voicemails of the TLC star professing her love for “Sam.” Meri discovered her online paramour’s true identity in August 2015 and immediately cut off the relationship. 

At this point, Meri had been filmed hinting that she was preparing to leave her spiritual marriage and the Brown family, as the online romance sizzled behind the scenes. 

Meri was forced to tell the sordid tale during Sister Wives Season 9, and quickly assumed the role of victim.

“When I started talking to this ‘guy,’ you know, we’re becoming friends, and we’re laughing, and he was saying all the right things to make me trust him and make me think that he was this real person that really cared,” Meri explained at the time.

Fans know that Kody and Meri finally called it quits last month after Meri clung to hope for years that Kody might be able to move past the tawdry affair.  

“After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship,” the joint statement read.

Mykelti rewound the scandal during her chat with fans and spilled some inside tea about what was happening inside Meri’s home, according to Meri’s daughter, Mariah, who has since transitioned to Leon. Mykelti called out Meri for “giving up” on her marriage when she chose to cheat with “Sam.”

“When you cheat on someone, you’re giving up first,” Mykelti said. “If you’re going to cheat on your spouse, you’re giving up on the relationship first. It’s unfair for her to get mad at Dad when she gave up. She threw the towel in. She said, ‘I’m done.’ She cheated first.”

While Myleti acknowledged that the affair was “emotional,” she added that Mariah had overheard “intimate conversations” between her mother and the catfish. 

“Mariah heard them on the phone having intimate conversations over the phone. And if you’re sexting or verbal sexting or whatever, that’s cheating. That’s still cheating,” Mykelti said.

Tony noted that Meri might have followed through and left the marriage if “Sam” had been the real deal. 

“If it had not been a girl pretending to be a guy, who knows what could have happened,” he pointed out. 

Kody shared his own belief that Meri was ready to walk, in a past episode of Sister Wives.

“When Meri had an affair, she was leaving my a**,” Kody said. “Because she was like, ‘I’m done with this. I am done with you.’ She made it clear to everybody that she was getting out of there. She was done with us. And she can’t admit it now. We circled the wagons as a family to protect her when she realized that she’d been duped.”
