Hoda Kotb Shuts Down Jenna Bush Hager from Taking Part in Live Workout Because She Had “Nothing On’

Hoda Kotb demanded that Jenna Bush Hager not participate in a live fitness segment on Thursday’s episode of Hoda & Jenna, because her co-host had “nothing on.”

The episode featured a fitness demonstration led by Peloton trainer, Ally Love. Hoda was heard quietly advising Jenna to sit out the segment.  

Ally discussed “small moves” that could amp up a personal fitness journey and after she demonstrated one of the movements, Jenna tried to share  one of her own. Hoda quickly warned Jenna against doing the workout because she had “nothing on.” Hoda tried to keep her voice down and downplay the situation, but her comment was audible to the audience. 

Jenna responded “Hey, hey,” trying to keep the exchange hush hush. 

The covert convo played out after Hoda previously claimed that Jenna does not wear underwear on a typical work day. Jenna’s stripped down status came out in March 2022, during a game of truth or dare with Good Housekeeping. Savannah Guthrie confirmed the story and added that Jenna had borrowed her clothes and reworn her Spanx—giving context to Hoda’s actions during the aired exercise session. 

Today show fans took aim at both Hoda and Jenna last week, after they confessed that they found nothing wrong with allowing their partners to use their toothbrushes. Hoda and Jenna’s conversation went viral after Wednesday’s show. 

Jenna began — “So, this was a husband. He was outraged after he found out that his wife had been using his toothbrush.”

“She says that she just uses it from time to time,” Hoda said. “Don’t get all bent out of shape. She doesn’t use it daily.”

“And sometimes it can be by accident,” Jenna added. “Maybe you confuse the brushes.”

“Especially on a trip,” Hoda said. “Because you bring one of those travel brushes and you’re like, ‘Is that yours?’”

She continued—“He says it’s quote ‘revolting.’ Revolting, he described her toothbrush as, because he doesn’t want to rub her plaque on his teeth.”

Jenna pointed out — “She says it’s not different than kissing. I was gonna say, I can tell you a way you rub plaque against somebody’s teeth. Teeth to teeth.”

“Yeah. Making out,” Hoda said. ”Teeth to teeth? God, who are you kissing?”

“You know what I meant, mouth to mouth,” Jenna clarified.

”Teeth to teeth is like when you don’t know how to kiss and you bang your teeth together,” Hoda said.

“Ok, so this is how we feel about it,” Hoda admitted. “We, collectively, think sharing a toothbrush is no big deal.”

Last month, the co-hosts clashed after Hoda called out Jenna’s boozy habits while discussing SantaCon, a NYC bar crawl event that takes place in December.  

Jenna, 41, who shared that she participated in the raucous event before becoming a mother, asked Hoda, 58, if she had ever taken part in the tipsy tradition. 

“No! You know when you have a wild night …” Hoda responded. “I’m realizing I like to have fun and have great laughs but I don’t love to feel like a drunkey monkey.”

Hoda denied being “judgy,” but Jenna protested, commenting — ”Yes, it sure was. When have you seen me like that?”

Hoda dissolved into laughter, repeating the question — ”When have I seen you like that?” Jenna giggled, seemingly accepting her point.
