Melissa Gorga Denies Age-Shaming Caroline Manzo

Melissa Gorga is calling Jacqueline Laurita a liar for accusing her of saying Caroline Manzo is “too old and boring” to return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

“Not true- I love Caroline always have,” Melissa Gorga, 43, commented on Page Six’s Instagram post.

Melissa Gorga spoke out after Jacqueline Laurita spilled the tea on New Year’s Eve in response to a fan asking her about the current status of Gorga’s friendship with Caroline.

“I think they are friendly acquaintances,” Jacqueline responded, who is Manzo’s sister-in-law. “Melissa always used to say Caroline was too old and boring for the show. (She’s not).”

Jacqueline, 52, continued — “Well, let’s just say that she was really good at lying while keeping a straight face and very good at manipulating people,” the former “Housewife,” who now lives in Las Vegas, wrote after a fan asked whether Gorga was a “liar.”

“The whole time, Melissa and Joe [Gorga] were in my ear manipulating me, telling me secrets about Teresa, things Teresa would say and do to them, and telling me things Teresa would say behind my back,” Jacqueline stated.

When Real Housewives of New Jersey premiered on Bravo in 2009, Caroline and Jacqueline were original cast members. The sister-in-laws departed the Bravo reality series at the conclusion of season 5. Jacqueline appeared as a “friend of the Housewives” in Season 6 and briefly returned as a full-timer in Season 7.

In 2014, Caroline Manzo landed her own spinoff series, “Manzo’d with Children,” which ran for three seasons.

The Manzo matriarch and her fun-loving Italian family are back, but with the kids all grown up, Caroline and Al Sr. are left to deal with the daunting and unpredictable question of…what’s next? When Caroline is faced with a serious health scare, the Manzos continue to find courage in their love and laughter. The show was canceled after three seasons.

Although Caroline Manzo no longer appears on reality TV, she still churns out drama off-screen. Real Housewives of New Jersey alums and sisters Dina Cantin and Caroline have been embroiled in family drama that has only escalated as Dina’s ex-husband awaits two separate trials for allegedly organizing attacks on her and her current husband.

Tommy Manzo, Dina’s ex, has been charged with hiring a hitman with mob ties to attack her husband, David Cantin, in 2015. In May 2021, he was also linked to planning a 2017 home invasion robbery on both Dina and David. Tommy and Dina split in 2012 after seven years of marriage, and Dina married Dave on June 28, 2017.

Caroline took Tommy’s side in the criminal case and wrote the judge a lengthy letter of support in defense of her brother-in-law. Needless to say, this didn’t sit well with her sister, Dina, and the two remain estranged.
