‘Teen Mom’ Fans Slam Chelsea Houska’s ‘UGLY’ House Ahead of Her HGTV Debut

Teen Mom star, Chelsea Houska, is gearing up for her HGTV series, but fans have made it clear that they find her house and interior design ugly.

The teen mom star and her husband, Cole DeBoer, finished constructing their new home in 2020. They moved into the house in August 2021 and now they have an HGTV series about their home, Down Home Fab, which is set to premiere soon.

In the new series trailer, viewers see Cole and Chelsea renovate their home. Since they moved in, Teen Mom fans have got to see some parts of the house that Houska has shared on her Instagram. However, most of her posts featuring her southern western decor have gotten a bad reaction from her followers.

Chelsea is known for making bold decisions regarding her decor style. She painted the walls of her house black. Most of the pieces in the new home are from her Aubree Says home decor line. The MTV alum’s line has been slammed for having poor-quality pieces with outrageous prices.

In the trailer, Chelsea says, “I want to introduce my clients to ideas they didn’t even know they loved.” Despite fans’ backlash, Chelsea continues decorating her home with the pieces from Aubree Says. Fans of the Teen Mom star have made their dislike for Chelsea’s decor style since the HGTV show was announced.

One of the MTV star’s critics said on Reddit, “The decor gives me Native vibes with a touch of African and heavy, heavy helping of ‘rustic and polished.’ Should call this look ‘The colonizer”

A second person added, “It’s well done, but it’s boring, has no personality, and lacks uniqueness. It’s every basic home on Pinterest. This is how you stage a home to sell it, not live in it.”

Another critic questioned Chelsea‘s decor decisions saying, “I don’t like my home decor to include dead animals or the suggestion of dead animals. Maybe that’s just me.”

When Cole and Chelsea moved into their home, her husband had one demand: that he gets to hang a massive set of antlers on their wall.

Chelsea posted a photo of her husband to her Instagram Stories as he was holding the antlers in both hands. The photo’s caption read, “Anyone wanna guess where these bad boys are going?!” In the next image, the MTV alum posted a photo of their wall and added arrows pointing to where the antlers would go.

When she later opened her Stories for questions, fans wanted to know where the antlers came from. Chelsea replied with a deer GIF but later changed it to an elk. Another fan asked if Cole had killed the animal himself, and Chelsea revealed that the animal shed the antlers naturally. Adding the caption, “No animals were harmed.”

Chelsea posted another photo of her daughter standing next to a bowl full of antlers and got backlash from her followers. Many accused her of endangering her kids by leaving the sharp objects lying around when she has four children running around.

Chelsea and Cole married in 2016 and share three kids, Watson, 5, Layne Ettie, 4, Walker, June, 21 months, and Aubree, 13.

One person said, “How many deer have to die for Chelsea to decorate her house.” Yikes, imagine one of the kids tripping onto that!”

Another Redditor added, “This is dangerous, especially with a little one who will be moving around and doesn’t understand not to touch that.”
