The View’s Ana Navarro Snaps at Sunny Hostin Over Biden Documents
The View host Ana Navarro snapped at her co-host Sunny Hostin after she tried to interrupt her rant on air about President Biden’s private documents.
Friday the 13th’s episode of The View kicked off with Joy Behar asking the ladies’ for their perspective on the president’s classified documents scandal.
After Alyssa Farrah Griffin and Sunny Hostin, 54, weighed in on the tense political topic, Alyssa chimed in.
“It’s a very big deal. The final thing I will say is I don’t think that we should hold ourselves as a country to the standard. Yeah, but Donald Trump did it like that’s the lowest possible bar imaginable and we can’t excuse what Biden did just because Trump did it.”
Sara Haines said the documents would make people think Biden has much more they are keeping from the American people.
“My mind is running all over the place, what are they hiding, what could it be? Why would you not tell us? It is not good to handle it the way they are doing now.”
Navarro interrupted, “Listen, I don’t think they’re hiding anything.” Sunny chimed in, “I don’t think they are” before Ana stopped her and took a humorous approach to the topic. “Listen, let me say this. These documents are at least six to seven years old — nobody was missing them for seven years.”
Ana continued, “Biden could have easily flushed them down the toilet, have his crazy German Shepard eat them, or burnt them in the fireplace – but he didn’t, he self-reported.” She then compared the similarities and differences between Biden’s and former president Trump’s classified documents investigations. “Similarities, neither of them should have had classified documents. Period. Dot.”
“Differences. The National Archives tried for over a year to get the documents from Trump. When Trump finally handed them over there were 15 boxes, en se cajas people!”
Joy Behar interrupted Ana to clarify the Spanish term. “What does that mean?” Joy asked. Ana snapped to a smiling Joy with her hands in the air and replied, “15 boxes!” Navarro tried to continue her rant, saying, “They discovered 15 boxes ..”
However, Sunny Hostin chimed in and asked, “Were they in a toilet bowl?” Ana responded to her co-host by swatting her hands in the air and saying, “No! Let me finish, no, they weren’t in a toilet bowl.” Navarro then continued to make her point despite the interruption from Sunny.
Navarro finished her rant on the Biden documents and revealed that Trump’s lawyers lied to investigators who visited Mar-A- Lago to get the classified documents. “So that’s completely different from Biden self-reporting.”
Fans of the show didn’t agree with some of the hosts trying to say Biden’s classified documents aren’t as bad as Trump’s.
One person said, “NOTHING THEY SAY NEGATES THE FACTS. HE SHOULDN’T HAVE HAD THEM PERIOD!! TRY AS YOU WILL.”
Another show critic added, “The point is ..Biden had classified documents for years compared to months. Now the shoe is on the other foot. You look stupid making excuses for Biden.”
Viewers’ backlash over some of the host’s opinions on Biden’s leaked documents comes after Sunny Hostin said comparing Biden to Trump is like comparing apples to orangutans.
“Let’s talk about the fact that Donald Trump was asked to return the documents voluntarily, refused, then refused several subpoenas, kept [the documents] in toilets, and kept them not in a locked place, and kept them on the floor. Anybody could have had access.”
Hostin continued, “He had top secret classified information, including things that would have put people’s lives in danger, including nuclear documents, and there were 300 documents found! So I think you cannot compare one to the other. That’s like comparing apples to orangutans, OK? Clearly different.”
