The View’s Whoopi Goldberg Puzzles Fans with Bizarre Cat Act

The View moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, confused fans Tuesday after she reacted to a Hot Topic segment by acting like a cat. 

On Tuesday, The View panel debated how to respond when a host invites two people who do not get along to an event. Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin clashed over the issue before Sara Haines recalled attending a friend’s affair despite knowing that another attendee had bullied her in the past. 

Joy suggested that Sara could’ve used the opportunity for revenge, which prompted the panelist to tell a different story about the same woman. Whoopi then chimed in off-camera with a series of feline sound effects. She growled like a cat as her co-hosts bantered about the subject, and did not let up as music played leading the group into a commercial.

Whoopi’s co-hosts laughed it off as she added—“Let’s go. I mean-fttt.” The comedian held up her hands like cat claws and kept up the sound effects as Sara calmly sipped her tea. Sunny kicked off another story before Whoopi sent the show into a commercial break. 

“That was fun,” she quipped to Sara, as the camera zoomed out.

While Sara stayed silent during Whoopi’s cat act, she did speak up and correct the moderator during Monday’s show. 

Whoopi weighed in on Rolling Stones’ list of the 200 Greatest Singers Of All Time and took issue with the publication leaving out several talented voices, including late singer, Ella Fitzgerald. 

Whoopi ranted—”Ella Fitzgerald is not on the list! No!”

The 67-year-old pointed out that Nat King Cole, MC Hammer, and Kenny Rogers were also missing from the list. 

Sara, 45, interjected after Whoopi’s outburst, commenting—”I have a correction – Ella Fitzgerald is on there.”

Whoopi, who appeared uncomfortable, sheepishly told the audience—”So that’s good news!”

This isn’t the first time that fans called out Whoopi for acting strangely on set. Viewers noticed that the comedian appeared “bored” during a July discussion over the end of the Choco Taco. The chat shifted to the co-hosts sharing a mutual fear of home intruders, but that topic also failed to spark Whoopi’s interest. She even sarcastically laid her head down on her hand at one point, before fiddling with her laser pointer. 

One fan asked—“Wth is Whoopi doing?”

Another tweeted—“What’s Whoopi doing? She looks bored.”

Many people chimed in to agree that Whoopi was acting “kinda weird” throughout the entire segment. 

One shocked fan wrote—“Whoopi, we know you hate being on The View. But rolling your eyes and playing with a laser pointer today was beyond insulting to your co-hosts.”

Another person added— “What is wrong with Whoopi Goldberg? Rolling her eyes & then staring into space…She’s getting paid a fat check for nothing.”
