‘Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown Says Robyn’s Meddling Led To Separation From Kody

Sister Wives star Janelle Brown says Robyn Brown’s meddling played a hand in her separation from Kody Brown.

In part 3 of Sister Wives: One-on-One special, Janelle reveals her true feelings about Robyn, 43. The TLC star says, “I got so tired of ‘Counselor Robyn.’ Like, oh yeah, your pain, your pain,” before adding that Kody “acts like he’s the only person who’s been rejected.”

The reality star was referring to her former sister wife, Christine Brown, who left him and the rest of the family in 2021. While speaking to the host Sukanya Krishnan, Janelle said, “The whole thing with Christine has been coming for a long time and he acts so surprised by it. So I’m just a little bit like, Ok. Alright.”

Janelle confirmed in December 2022, that she has been separated from Kody, 53, for months. She shares six children with the Sister Wives star — Logan, 28, Maddie, 27, Hunter, 25, Garrison, 24, Gabriel, 21, and Savanah, 18. Janelle said that Robyn trying to patch things up between her and Kody only made things worse because she always took Kody’s side in most matters.

“It just feels like she’s placating him,” Janelle said. She added that there was “rejection” on all sides ahead of their split and said even “my boys felt just as rejected by this.” Her sons, Garrison and Gabriel, had a falling out with their father over his strict COVID-19 rules that he put in place for the “safety” of his family.

The mother of six added that Kody Brown made it clear that the boys had to apologize and make things right despite the role he played in the feud. “The first ultimatum was that, they would apologize to him and they would apologize to Robyn,” she said.

Janelle also revealed that things haven’t gotten any better with Kody and his sons since they finished filming season 17 of their reality show. “He’s not made any effort. He’s still acting like they need to come to him.” Janelle also spoke about the moment Kody yelled at her at the season 17 finale and said she felt like she was being called to “repentance.”

During the episode, Kody Brown told Janelle, “You’re the wayward wife who disrespects me and it’s all your fault so it’s time to come to repentance and see the light.”

Kody revealed that moment was the breaking point for him after a hard year. “I was so mad at her at that time that I was like, ‘You walk away and this is over. That was what I was thinking. That’s how bad I was. I realize that’s ridiculous but that’s how angry I was.”

He continued to say in the confessional, “That kind of s—t is petty, but it made me bitter. What I really felt like was, ‘Janelle, you’re not leaving. You’re not supposed to be leaving. You’re friends with Christine, you’re betraying me.’ It was all an emotion of betrayal and rejection.”

Despite Kody’s disappointment in Janelle and Christine’s friendship, Sister Wives fans love their relationship.

One fan tweeted, “Beautiful! Christine is inspiring Love her & Janelle’s bond Christine stayed far too long & I’m sure it was hard to leave. Kody has neglected his wives & kids (except Robyn)& it isn’t fair to expect your wives to be obedient & stay in a sexless marriage. You deserve better.”

Another fan wrote, “Robyn stays on victim mode when it comes to the other sister wives. She feels cheated? So, Christie, Janelle, and Meri should stay in a loveless marriage to appease her? Does she not see how selfish that is?.”
