TLC Teases New ‘Sister Wives’ Spinoff Title Starring Christine and Janelle Brown
TLC dropped a hint about a Sister Wives spinoff that will feature Christine and Janelle Brown navigating their lives apart from their mutual ex, Kody Brown.
The network recently posted a series of video clips, grabbed from the recently concluded season of Sister Wives, on their official Instagram account—highlighting the close bond between Kody’s second and third wives.
TLC sparked lots of fan chatter with the post’s caption, which read—“Sisters, not wives?”
Fans cheered Janelle all season for standing as a pillar of support, as the show documented Christine’s bombshell decision to leave Kody and the Brown family. Kody and Christine announced that they were parting ways in November 2021. Janelle more recently confirmed her own exit from the plural marriage, on Part 1 of the Sister Wives: One-on-One special.
Fans praised Janelle on social media as Christine navigated the breakup, faced the family fallout and planned her move from Arizona to Utah. It wasn’t long before rumors began to swirl that a spinoff show was in the works.
In November, a report by The U.S. Sun claimed that Christine and Janelle were in talks for a new reality TV project.
“They’re gearing towards their own show,” a source told the outlet. “It would be more about female empowerment like ‘Life After Polygamy.’ That’s the direction they’re going in.”
“Separate lives from Kody and Robyn and life at home with their kids,” the tipster added. “They’re trying to build a financial empire together.”
On Friday, TLC posted the series of clips of the two ladies sharing their thoughts on their long relationship, seemingly teasing a revamped TV narrative.
“Every time I’ve come into town I’ve seen her…we do coffee in the morning and hang out for a little bit,” Christine shared. “It’s just easier, it’s taken off the label of ‘sister wife’ and we’re just friends…but we’re closer than friends because we’ve raised kids together.”
“Honestly of all my sister wives, Christine was always kind of the heart of that relationship for me,” Janelle told cameras.
“Christine truly is, in my head, the definition of a sister wife. You share a big portion of your life with, you have history with, you’re a support network for each other…so yeah I think we’re still sister wives,” the mom of six added.
Fans continued to push for a “Sisters, not wives” spinoff in the comment section of TLC’s post.
