‘Sister Wives’ Janelle Brown Escapes Kody and Robyn For Christmas
Janelle Brown has returned to Flagstaff, Arizona after spending the holiday season far away from her ex-husband Kody Brown and his wife, Robyn.
As a result of the ongoing “travel drama” clogging the airways across the United States, Janelle, 53, took to social media to share how her trip to North Carolina had been extended by a “few extra days,” allowing her more quality time with her daughter, Madison Brown. Kody, Janelle’s ex-husband with whom she shares six children, was naturally absent.
“Feels like spring even though it’s [the] end of December … Inches of snow at home in Flagstaff,” Janelle Brown wrote on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 29. “I have loved being at Maddie’s,” she continued.
On Christmas Eve, Janelle looked right at home posing in front of the Christmas tree with Maddie, son-in-law Caleb Brush, and baking cookies for Santa. Janelle escaped Arizona after ending her spiritual union in 2022, after 30 years of marriage to Kody — this is after his third wife Christine Brown dumped him in 2021.
Janelle and Kody confirmed their separation during the Sister Wives: One on One season 17 special. And Janelle is ready to take on the new year as a single woman, after the split.
Janelle took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing Monday —“I’m ready for you 2023!”
Janelle posted a series of snaps and one video, inviting her followers along on her “health journey.”
“This health journey I’ve been on has been incredible,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself against a wall printed with the word “PIVOTAL.”
The TLC star added, “It’s all about slow and steady that wins the race💪🏼. 2023 is my year!”
Janelle concluded, “I’m coming for you 2023!”
Season 17 of Sister Wives ended with Kody and Janelle in a blowout fight over how to navigate family relationships in the wake of Kody’s split from third wife, Christine Brown. Janelle admitted that she wasn’t sure if she wanted to participate.
“To be honest with you, I really don’t know if I want to do the work,” she said. “It feels like I’m being forced to choose between my children and this group. I don’t feel like my children are welcome.”
Robyn Brown’s status as Kody’s number one wife and his blatant favoritism is the major reason for Christine and Janelle leaving their marriages.
“I think he has a favorite wife and that’s why all of this is like it is,” Christine said during an episode in season 17. “And apparently, I’m not treating her well enough.”
Christine’s assertion confirmed the Brown family and fanbase that Robyn has long been referred to as Kody’s “favorite” because of her close relationship with the polygamous patriarch.
Sister Wives airs Sunday nights, at 10 p.m. ET, on TLC.
