‘RHOC’ Alum Meghan King Posts Rant After Ex Jim Edmonds’ Wife Kortnie Shares Family Pic With Kids
Meghan King went on a post-Christmas rant about the “failing” court system, after the wife of her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, shared photos of their children online. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star shares three children with the former MLB star, Aspen, 6, and 4-year-old twin boys, Hayes and Hart.
Meghan celebrated Christmas with her children on December 26, sharing a happy family photo with her followers.
“When you share kids on holidays, you make up your own Christmas Day! It’s the 26th but it’s our Christmas morning!” Meghan captioned the snap.
Hours later, Meghan took to her Instagram Story to tear into the family court system, amid her contentious custody arrangement with her ex.
“There’s so much more to this story that I’m not choosing to share. Keeping this high level to promote awareness that the family court system is failing the single parent (typically the person in my place is the single mother who makes less money but has more custody),” she stated in her first message. “Other people being jerked around by the family law system, this one is for YOU and YOU and YOU.”
Meghan suggested that her three children were not being protected or respected in her absence.
“I won’t shut up until I believe my children are respected and safe, and so is their mother,” she said. “Mothers in this situation are unable to focus on mothering [because] of this nonsense. IT NEEDS TO END. No one stands up for the most important person in their life: arguably their mother. If I don’t fight, who will?”
The ex Bravo star went on to explain that her second message pertained to photos being posted without her permission.
“I’m talking about exercising my ability to control who, what, and how my children are posted on the internet. No one but immediate family has my permission, NO ONE!” she proclaimed. “Not any of my nannies, sitters, friends, schools, or camps have permission. If my coparent disagrees, I have the legal right to make the tie-breaking decision.”
Meghan allowed her followers to chime in their own opinions, via a poll attached to her second post. 97 percent of those who participated agreed with Meghan.
Meghan’s pointed messages came after Jim’s new wife, Kortnie O’Connor, shared a slideshow of photos of the couple spending the holiday with Jim’s children, including Aspen, Hayes, and Hart. Jim also shared a series of fun family pics on Christmas, which featured son, Landon, and daughter, Sutton, whom he shares with second wife, Allison Raski. The ex-pro athlete is also dad to two daughters from his marriage to late wife, Leann Horton.
He captioned the post—“Merry Christmas from us … None of this is possible without you ‘Kort.’ The love that you give to our family and the love that you get back is clear to everyone. Thank you so much for all that you do. We all love you!”
Jim and Kortnie tied the knot in September. Meghan and Jim appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County for three seasons.
