Ryan Seacrest Fires Shots At Andy Cohen …They’re Not Friends

Ryan Seacrest does not like Andy Cohen and fired subliminal shots at the Watch What Happens Live host while commenting on the no-drinking rule for this year’s New Year’s Eve special.

Ryan Seacrest, 48, said that he applauds CNN’s decision to restrict alcohol during the live event, after Andy Cohen’s drunk on-air spectacle in 2021.

Ryan, who has been a host of ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve since 2006, said it’s probably a good idea that they scale back.

“I don’t advocate drinking when one is on the air. I don’t know how that started as a tradition” he said. This year he will be joined by co-hosts, Liza Koshy and Jessie James Decker. During the interview, Ryan joked about CNN’s New Year’s Eve Live hosts, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen. “There’s some pretty respectable people or at least one, right? I think there’s a serious journalist and then a friend of mine who has a lot of fun, but it’s probably a good idea.”

Seacrest also joked that the decision to remove alcohol would not make viewers happy. “Although the viewers probably wish they would drink more,” he added. Ryan’s view comes after last year’s messy broadcast where Bravo executive Andy Cohen had a few drinks and took a jab at Ryan.

He said, “If you look behind me, you’ll see Ryan Seacrest’s group of losers performing. I’m sorry but if you’re watching ABC, you’re watching nothing.” Ryan referenced the incident in the interview, “They had something to say about my show at one point, which was I’m sure from the alcohol because I don’t think they would say what they said about our performers if they weren’t drinking.”

He said that the hosts won’t be drinking until after 1:05 in the morning. The Live with Kelly and Ryan host said to get back at Andy and Anderson for their comments last year, “I might send them some Casa Dragones Tequila just to tempt them while they’re on the air.”

However, Andy said the only thing he regretted about being drunk on the show was what he said about Ryan. Cohen told People earlier this year, “The only thing that I regret saying, the only thing is that I slammed the ABC broadcast.”

He added, “I really like Ryan Seacrest and he’s a great guy and I really regret saying that and I was just stupid and drunk and feeling. I was continuing the Journey rant and I just kept talking and I shouldn’t have and I felt bad about that, so that is the only thing.”
