Kenya Moore Celebrates Ramona Singer’s ‘RHONY’ Exit
Kenya Moore is pleased to see Ramona Singer’s impressive stint on The Real Housewives of New York City come to an end.
“It was time for her to go,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star told Page Six about Ramona’s exit from the franchise.
Ramona appeared as a full-time RHONY cast member for 13 consecutive seasons. Ramona confirmed that she would not be part of the show’s upcoming “Legacy” reboot, which will feature past cast members.
“I do not want to do the show any longer,” she said via a statement last month. “It’s not for me at this time.”
Reports later alleged that the network did not offer the Bravo veteran a spot on the reworked cast. Kenya scoffed at the idea that Ramona actually turned down the offer.
“You think she ‘left’?” Kenya asked. “No ‘Housewife’ ever leaves.”
Kenya, 51, and Ramona, 66, clashed during the debut season of Peacock spinoff series, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
Ramona has invited mixed reviews from fans over the years. Some viewers called for her firing when Eboni K. Williams shut down the most recent reunion after she accused Ramona of making a racist remark. An internal investigation eventually cleared Ramona, but some fans weren’t convinced.
Bravo executive, Andy Cohen, announced earlier this year that the show would be starting over with a new cast of women and that a “Legacy” spinoff would be forthcoming. Page Six reported that the network hoped to keep Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan in the mix and add familiar faces, Kelly Bensimon, Jill Zarin, and Dorinda Medley, among others.
Kenya is set to appear on Fox’s new reality series, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The cast includes Jamie Lynn Spears, “Jon & Kate Plus 8” alum, Kate Gosselin, and Spice Girls singer, Melanie “Mel B” Brown. The group is physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged to perform military training exercises in the deserts of Jordan, in the unscripted series.
Kenya quipped that Ramona would be “booted off within the first hour,” but added that her RHOA co-star and track and field Olympian, Sanya Richards-Ross, would be up to the task.
“Only Sanya Richards-Ross could handle this because she was an Olympian,” Kenya said. “She would kill it.”
She added—“But anyone else from my cast? No, they’re punks.”
Kenya shared that she feels rejuvenated after taking on the challenge and is even considering having another child. Kenya shares one daughter, Brooklyn, 4, with ex, Marc Daly.
“I had been struggling about whether or not I wanted another child,” the reality star revealed.
“But as soon as I left the show, I felt strong. I was like, ‘I can do it,’” she continued. “I was so in my head and thinking all the things like, ‘I’m not married anymore, I’m getting older,’ all of that.”
“And then as soon as I left there, I just felt this renewed sense of peace and was like, ‘I’m going to have another kid’ — on my own or not.”
Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres January 4, at 8 pm ET on Fox.
