Today Show’s Savannah Guthrie Sparks Chatter After She Posts Photo of ‘Sad’ Six-Year-Old Son

Savannah Guthrie sparked fan chatter after sharing a photo of her son, Charles, looking gloomy on Christmas morning. The Today Show host has been letting fans in on her family traditions throughout the holiday season, and many were surprised when the host posted a pic of the six-year-old looking down in the dumps on Christmas. 

The anchor shared the family photos on her Instagram Story, posing alongside her husband, Michael, and the couple’s two children. The group wore matching holiday pajamas in the cute pics, and while Savannah, Michael, and their eight-year-old daughter, Vale, wore bright smiles, Charles was clearly not into the photo session. Charles appeared sad as he turned from the camera, and Savannah noted that her son was “not that merry” in a memo over the image.  

The TV personality, who has been on a break from the morning show, has shared humorous snippets of her holiday fun with fans during her hiatus. Savannah recently posted her clan’s “cozy gingerbread village,” which she said, “looked like a crime scene.” A fan encouraged the broadcaster, reassuring her that her gingerbread project was “no crime scene at all.”

“Just memories,” the fan added.

Another Instagram user said—”Thank you for posting the red vinyl tablecloth we all would break out when our kids were that age.”

The fan joked—”I love crime scene holiday crafting! It’s the best!”

Another follower said—“This is like a scene out of my future.We have those gingerbread kits waiting.”

One fan chimed in—“Never seen a crime scene that cute before, but okay.”

Another viewer shared that they had “posted the same thing on my story last night!”

The person added— “We also got the Christmas village… It’s like Play Doh. It never looks like the box. happy holidays!”

Viewers were left scratching their heads after Savannah and her co-host, Hoda Kotb, went on a break from the show last week. Craig Melvin and Sheinelle Jones took over the anchor desk as co-hosts on Wednesday. Savannah’s break began on Monday. 

Fans know that Today weatherman, Al Roker, has been absent amid a battle for his health.  

Al, 68, has been working to recover from a month-long hospitalization, after being diagnosed with blood clots in his legs and lungs. He shared a health update last week, on Instagram.

Al posted pics on the platform surrounded by his wife, Deborah Roberts, and their two adult children, daughter Leila, 24, and 20-year-old son Nick. Al noted that he was “thankful” that he was healthy enough to decorate the family Christmas tree. One shot featured the happy group sitting with the family dog under the tree. 

He captioned the photos—“So thankful to be well enough to decorate the Roker Family Christmas tree.”
