‘Today’ Show Hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb’s Jobs In Danger
Today co-hosts, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, are in danger of losing their jobs if they don’t put an end to their ongoing feud, which has spilled over to their NBC show.
According to Radar Online, NBC executives told Savannah, 50, and Hoda, to “Stop the bit***** and backstabbing or you’re toast!” They also claim the two host’s relationship has been strained for years and that Savannah struts around the office like the Queen Bee which makes Hoda, 58, mad and she hits back by snipping and rolling her eyes.
As per the outlet, the breaking point in their relationship happened last week when Savannah shared a post bragging about getting to work late — it was seen as her showing Hoda who is boss.
The source added, “The feeling at NBC is that this pettiness has gone on way too long, and it’s having a negative impact on guests and morale on the set. Both of them have been hauled aside and told to make nice. They’ve also been told both of them are dispensable.”
They also said that Savannah and Hoda’s feud on set has triggered a civil war, which has forced most of the staff members to pick a side.
“The staff are in an impossible position. It would be smart to align with Savannah because she is the boss, but Hoda is so much more fun. Do you pick the person you like best, or the person who will help your career? It’s not easy but everyone is having to make a choice,” the source said.
Reports further allege that Jenna Bush Hager, 40, has also been caught in the hosts’ feud. The former first daughter is allegedly stirring the pot between Guthrie and Kotb in an effort to take their spot. The source also said that their co-workers are completely fed up.
“These two have never found it easy to play nice, but it’s just making everyone around them fed up. The face they’re having their heads knocked together is for everyone’s long-term benefit.”
When Hoda first got the gig, she and Savannah were able to keep their rivalry at bay. A spokesperson for Today responded to the feud rumors. They added that Savannah’s post about coming in late wasn’t directed at anyone.
“Everything in this story is demonstrably false. Savannah overslept, plain and simple. She was coming in to work from upstate New York this morning … When the show producer called her, she woke up and rushed in,” the spokesperson noted.
After this statement, Kotb shared a post hugging her co-host and captioned it, “Just because ~ and thank you it was absolutely perfect.” Guthrie responded in the comment section saying, “Love you mostest.”
