Today’s Hoda Kotb Throws Shade at Savannah Guthrie On Live TV — Savannah Claps Back

Today’s co-hosts, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, shared an extremely awkward moment on Thursday during a gift-wrapping segment. Savannah openly mocked Hoda on live TV after picking up on some shade tossed by her co-host during the live broadcast. 

Real Simple rep, Katie Holdefehr, joined the duo to teach how to wrap like a pro for the holidays. Savannah struggled through the task while Hoda picked up the technique quickly. Savannah, who had issues during the wrapping portion, asked the contributor to rewind how to wrap ribbon around the present. 

“Wait wait, redo redo, what?” Savannah asked Holdefehr.  

Meanwhile, Hoda was breezing through her assignment, bragging — “I got it.”

Savannah tuned out the guest’s repeat ribbon wrapping tips, instead shifting to mimic her co-host, quipping “I got it,” in a sarcastic tone. She quickly added, “I’m kidding,” before turning back to the holiday project. 

The swapped shade continued as the co-hosts showed off the results of their work. 

“That was easy,” Hoda boasted, lifting up her wrapped gift. “Look at mine.”

Savannah swiftly lowered her own wrapped package on the table, stuttering out an “Ok, well…” before asking their guest to come back another day so they could learn more.  

Savannah and Hoda have shared lots of happier moments together, including teaming up as backup dancers behind Alicia Keys, who recently appeared on the morning show.

The artist sang a few of her latest songs as well as some Christmas tunes as the co-hosts showed off their best moves. The moment was captured in a behind-the-scenes video. 

Savannah and Hoda, along with other Today show personalities, spread good cheer when they surprised Al Roker at his home, amid his absence from the show. The weatherman, who has been battling issues with blood clots, became emotional while his friends and colleagues performed Christmas carols at his house.  

Roker has been struggling to recover amid health issues, since late November. 

Roker revealed last month that he was suffering from blood clots in both his legs and lungs. He was hospitalized the day after Thanksgiving, after being released only 24 hours before the scary setback. 

An eyewitness told Page Six — ”Al was taken from his home on a stretcher back to the hospital on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. His condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved.”

The insider added—“His wife, Deborah, was understandably very upset. She had left her phone and other possessions inside their Tesla, which had malfunctioned and wouldn’t unlock, so she was trying to smash in a window.”

The source added—“Deborah then went to the hospital by taxi with her daughter, where Al has since been surrounded by his family.”
