Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans have been coming after Dorit Kemsley for not calling out Balenciaga for their campaign ad.

Dorit Kemsley is known to be one of the most fashionable stars on the Real Housewives franchise and she is often spotted wearing high-fashion brands. So fans were disappointed when the Bravo star said nothing about Balenciaga’s ad that featured children holding bears with BDSM-style gear. People have been leaving questions on Dorit’s social media posts and have asked her if she will continue to support the high fashion brand.

One Instagram user asked the reality star, “Why aren’t you speaking out against the pedophiles at Balenciaga?!! What is wrong with you people?! Do you support pedophillia?!!!!” Another fan asked, “Why have you not spoken out about balenciaga????? Crimes against children ! I hope your [sic] not going to endorse them anymore?”

Most people agreed that Dorit’s silence on the Balenciaga ad meant that she didn’t want to publicly attack the brand. Not only has the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star not spoken about the scandal, but she hasn’t deleted photos of herself wearing Balenciaga outfits.

Dorit’s October 17 post, where she is wearing a silver Balenciaga mini dress with matching leggings and heels, is still on her page. She captioned the post, “A balenciaga moment to close an epic weekend.” The silver outfit despite being “high fashion” was trashed by fans on Reddit with a few people saying Dorit looked like the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. Another housewife who was slammed for wearing Balenciaga was none other than The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, Teresa Guidice.

Teresa wore a white Balenciaga cardigan while on her trip to Paris with husband Luis Ruelas. She posted several photos wearing the fashion brand and got tons of backlash from fans for sharing them. She explained that she and Luis were completely off social media so she didn’t know about the scandal when she wore the sweater.

Teresa said during an episode of her Namaste B$tches podcast that she was embarrassed. “I  had no idea, but I guess Luis looked more into it, and then he took it down. He didn’t feel comfortable with it being up.”

Demna Gvasalia

Balenciaga’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia, issued an apology on Instagram saying, “I want to personally apologize for the wrong artistic choice of concept for the gifting campaign with the kids and I take my responsibility. It was inappropriate to have kids promote objects that had nothing to do with them.”
