‘RHONY’ Alum Praises Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis For Calling Out Bethenny Frankel
Luann De Lesseps reacted to Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis slamming Bethenny Frankel for her ReWives podcast.
During last week’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he was joined by Bethenny and Jeff. Andy, 54, didn’t waste any time talking about the controversial podcast.
“I thought it was kind of hypocritical of you to [launch the podcast] because you have been trashing the ‘Housewives’ publicly for the last three years,” he said of Bethenny.
After the episode aired, Real Housewives of New York alum, Luann is taking Andy and Jeff’s side on the topic of Bethenny’s podcast. She told fans about the controversial moment, saying, “Stop it! Oh my God! So they took care of it for me, yes! Love it, I love it!.”
Luann, 57, spoke about Wednesday’s WWHL episode during one of her cabaret performances after a fan asked her if she had watched it. In response, de Lesseps asked, “Wait, how did it go?” before most of the crowd replied “pissed!” The Bravo star then told her fans that she was going to watch the episode that night after a game of blackjack.
“Oh my God, how did I not know this? Oh, you know why? I’ve been on tour, and I’ve been playing [in] Chicago [and] Atlanta, but still no excuse man.” Fans in attendance cheered Luann on as she said that she can’t wait to see the episode for herself. “She was pissed because they cornered her.”
Bethenny, 52, did go to social media to share that Andy Cohen and Jeff Lewis ended up apologizing to her after the show aired. During Thursday’s episode of the ReWives podcast, the Skinnygirl founder said the show was a “toxic environment” and she didn’t realize Jeff was coming for her until she read several comments.
“My assistant said, ‘He’s that person now. Everyone you were with thinks he is so nasty and mean and came for you for no reason,” Bethenny revealed. Lewis also addressed the Watch What Happens Live episode and what Frankel said during her podcast.
Lewis, 52, said that everything was fine when they were done taping and that Bethenny even gave him and his daughter a thoughtful gift. However, when he texted her later to say “thank you,” she said the taping was “interesting,” which he thought was very “chilly” of her to say.
“And then I got a little nervous because I hope she wasn’t insulted by me or anything like that,” Lewis said. During Thursday’s episode of his radio show, he then apologized if he “hurt her feelings.” He said he only went after her because he knew “she would give it back to me.”
