Melissa Gorga Hopes Watching ‘RHONJ’ Season 13 Will Heal Relationship with Teresa Giudice
Melissa Gorga believes fans might experience deja vu when Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey kicks off.
“Unfortunately, you’re gonna feel like it’s the beginning all over again,” Melissa told Us Weekly last week when asked what makes the upcoming season unique. “That’s what’s unfortunate about it.”
Melissa and her husband, Joe Gorga, have been embroiled in a feud with Teresa Giudice since the RHONJ finale party went sideways, ahead of the Bravo veteran’s wedding to Luis Ruelas. Teresa’s brother and his wife backed out of the event after drama exploded during the filming of the finale episode. The upcoming season is expected to feature Teresa pushing a cheating rumor involving her sister-in-law.
Joe and Melissa will not be spending the holidays with the Giudices, as the family is currently not on speaking terms. Melissa, who plans to host Christmas Eve at her house, revealed that a familiar dessert will be served.
“There will be sprinkle cookies everywhere,” the reality star quipped.
Melissa was asked if watching different perspectives unfold in the upcoming season could heal the family’s broken relationship.
“I always hope it’s gonna help and I truly do from all angles, but sometimes it doesn’t because we end up on that couch in the reunion wanting to go crazy,” she told the outlet.
Cast member, Margaret Josephs, confirmed that she wasn’t so sure that the rift would be healed as the season plays out.
“To be seen, maybe,” she said as her husband, Joe Benigno, shook his head no. “Truthfully, I don’t know.”
Jackie Goldschneider is convinced that rewatching the sequence of events will not help the situation.
“No, I can say with 100 percent confidence, no matter how bad the fighting in the season is, it’s worse when you’re watching it back and all the social media fighting goes on,” she said. “Social media is a disaster.”
Melissa described Season 13 as a “slow burn” and Margaret agreed that the drama took her by surprise.
“I never thought it was going to explode the way that it did,” Margaret said. “I think that we have some new ladies on the cast that bring some great moments. And I think that’s really what makes [season 13] different. I think our cast has been so amazing. The last few years we haven’t had any change. And I think adding the new ladies into the mix brings a new perspective.”
Margaret added that she’s ready to get the party started.
“I’m excited. It’s fine. You know what? I love when our season airs. I feel like the way the fans do, I’m excited,” she said. “I can’t wait to see it again. I mean, not to relive every moment but I can’t wait.”
Jackie, whose husband was hit with cheating rumors last season, is looking forward to Season 13.
“I had a great season, so I feel great. It wasn’t so messy for me,” Jackie said. “And even [my husband] Evan [Goldschneider] had a good season, so we’re both really excited about that.”
