Harry Hamlin Defends Lisa Rinna Against Haters
Lisa Rinna’s husband, Harry Hamlin, reacted to his wife being booed during BravoCon by fans.
Harry, 71, spoke about Lisa’s recent backlash after her behavior in season 12 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and said that despite the hate she got, she handled it well. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight during the premiere of his AMC series, Mayfair Witches, on December 7, Harry said, “There were a lot more cheers than boos, and I thought that her response was classic and epic.”
When Rinna was called on stage, fans booed at her and she flicked them off in response. The soap actress told Entertainment Tonight during the event that the experience was so much fun. “Everyone was so worried for me, and I was like, ‘Why are you worried? It’s fabulous. I’m like a wrestler. I’m like WME,’” Rinna said. Harry Hamlin also said he wasn’t bothered by the incident. “I’m not worried about that girl at all,” he said.
Rinna attended the premiere to support Harry with their daughters, Delilah Belle Hamlin, 24, and Amelia Gray Hamlin, 21. Harry also said his upcoming series, which is set to premiere on January 8, is nothing like viewers have ever seen. Hamlin also said it was the most fun he has had in the 40 years he has been acting. “This show is gonna take AMC into a whole new universe. Walking Dead was pretty far out, but this is gonna be really far out.”
In the AMC series, Hamlin plays Cortland Mayfair who has a niece that finds out she is heir to a witch family. “It’s Anne Rice, and it’s Anne Rice through the lens of Esta Spalding, and all the characters are amalgamations of other characters,” he explained. “The story is a little bit different, but they’ve opened it up now so we can have many, many years of fun with these characters.”
During the interview, Harry also revealed that his famous sauce might be on shelves soon. Andy Cohen had announced that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was taking a short break after the feud between Lisa Rinna and Kathy Hilton played out during the previous season.
In October, Hilton said she won’t be returning to the show if Lisa Rinna was still going to be a part of it. “I had said I would only be willing to come back if the cast [changed]. If it was completely the same, absolutely not because I feel they are two bullies that intimidate a lot of the other girls,” Kathy said.
