Tammy Slaton Has Another Near Death Experience After She ‘Quits Breathing’ 

Tammy Slaton was rushed to hospital again after she stopped breathing and her body shut down.

In the upcoming season of 1000-lb Sisters, the TLC star was rushed to the hospital by ambulance ahead of her gastric bypass surgery, where doctors put her on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma.

Tammy’s hospital stay was very serious, “They’re just telling us that her lungs have given up, and like her body is shutting down,” their sister Amanda said during an episode in Season 3. “So at this point, you know, we’re facing making funeral arrangements for my little sister.”

“I’m just sitting here thinking, Oh my god. She’s been in such a bad place for so long. She waited too long. And now that she has the courage to step out and get the help that she needs, now this,” Amanda continued.

After three weeks in the hospital, Tammy was able to go back to rehab where she currently resides, hoping to get down to 500 lbs. to be eligible for weight loss surgery. 

“I’m not doing this for anybody but myself,” Tammy said in the episode. “I’ve decided to put myself first. Take care of Tammy.”

Over the summer, Tammy Slaton, 36, was rushed to the hospital after waking up one morning to find she couldn’t breathe.

“Her body is shutting down,” sister Amy Slaton, 35, said.

In another scary scene, Tammy was in a doctor’s office with a tracheostomy to assist her breathing.

“I told you Tammy, you have real risks,” the doc warned ahead of her major surgery.

In June, Tammy underwent life saving gastric bypass surgery, to help her lose the weight.

The reality star’s brother Chris Combs expressed concerned: “If she doesn’t get the surgery she’s gonna die because of her weight.”

In early 2022, Tammy Slaton, entered a weight loss rehab facility in Ohio for food addiction. 

One month into her stay, Tammy Slaton made major progress, she lost 115 lbs. after just 30 days at the facility, her brother Chris shared during the show’s season three finale.

“I’m overjoyed that’s she’s ready to get on this train and start rolling down the tracks,” he said in the episode.

Tammy’s sister and costar, Amy Slaton, said she’s happy to see that rehab is working.

“I’m glad Tammy is finally getting the help she needs,” Amy, 34, told People. “I just wanted the best for all my siblings.”

Meanwhile, the sisters still don’t seem to be getting along.

“We need a b***horxcist, we need somebody to exorcise the b***h out of Tammy,” said Amy in a confessional.

As reported, on November 19, 2022, 1000-lb Sisters fans congratulated Tammy Slaton, for tying the know to Caleb Willingham. A fellow patient at the rehab center in Ohio. Fans of the TLC reality star have spent years rooting for Tammy, watching her go through some of the toughest challenges of her life.
