Wendy Williams’ Rep Shoots Down Rumor That Talk Show Host Lost Millions After Son Kevin’s Eviction

Wendy Williams and her reps are disputing claims that she lost her millions after her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., was evicted from his Miami home because of his mother’s issues with her bank.

Kevin, 22, was sued for $69k in unpaid rent on his apartment and later told the court that his funds were tied up because of the ex-host’s legal dispute with Wells Fargo.

Wendy sued the bank last year accusing them of blocking access to her fortune. In February, Wells Fargo concluded that Wendy Williams was an “incapacitated person,” who required guardianship, therefore her accounts would remain blocked. The case has since been sealed but is reportedly ongoing.

Kevin explained in court—“When I moved in, my mom, Wendy Hunter, rented the apartment for me, paying for a full year plus security up front, with her intent being to purchase it at the end of the lease.”

“At her request, I signed the original lease on her behalf,” he explained. “As the lease approached the end, my mom went through some health issues that put the court in control of her finances.”

“All of this happened suddenly and all of the financial support that she always gave me stopped, including my housing,” he wrote. “Even though my name is on the lease my mom was paying, and for medical and legal reasons, she has not been able to pay the rent for the past months since the 1-year lease ended and the court has controlled her finances.”

“Everything happened very quickly and unexpectedly, and I have no idea things would end up like this,” he added.

Kevin added that he wanted to pay off the debt as soon as his mother’s money was accessible. He vacated the apartment without incident only days later.

Wendy’s rep, Shawn Zanotti, addressed the issue and denied that the former daytime diva had financial problems.

She spoke out about the situation on The Neighborhood Talk and confirmed that Wendy remains under a conservatorship.

“At this point, Wendy is under a conservatorship that was ordered by a federal New York judge,” the publicist said. “All expenses must be cleared by her guardian via the courts. There is a process where her expenses have to go through being verified and cleared before being paid.”

The rep noted that Wendy had missed payment deadlines, due to the lengthy process.

Wendy’s hands are tied and there is really nothing she can do right now,” she explained. “It’s a process that tends to go beyond the deadline of certain invoices. She, honestly, can’t do anything about that.”

In August, a U.S. Sun report claimed that Kevin Hunter Jr. racked up a $100k tab on the former host’s credit card before Wells Fargo froze her accounts. Sources close to Wendy told the outlet that the 22-year-old ran up quite a balance on his mother’s American Express Card before her brokerage accounts were frozen, in January. Sources alleged that Kevin’s runaway spending presented a red flag before the accounts were frozen.

Kevin told the outlet via a statement—”I vehemently deny any allegations of unauthorized use of my mother’s American Express Card. This is a false narrative perpetuated to justify freezing her accounts.”
