‘Sister Wives’ Star Janelle Brown Pushes Back in Blowout Fight with Kody

Tensions boil over between Kody Brown and his second wife, Janelle, on the upcoming episode of Sister Wives. Janelle and Kody have been at odds in the wake of Kody’s third wife, Christine’s decision to leave her spiritual marriage and move to Utah. Janelle supported Christine, which did not sit well with the TLC patriarch.

A fight between the pair explodes in a preview clip from Sunday’s episode, while Kody’s other two wives, Meri and Robyn, look on. 

Kody says that Janelle is “culpable for not having any respect for me about the COVID rules,” which ultimately divided the large family, including the sons he shares with Janelle. 

“Kody, you are asking me to choose between my children and you,” Janelle says.

Kody, 53, goes on to claim that Janelle had worked to “belittle” his effort, dramatically standing up and shouting—”I’m mad as hell because everybody put this s— on me.”

“When I finally get sick from COVID, that was a death-like experience,” he says. “I realize that you just can’t run from it by now. I was just trying to protect my family.”

Kody adds, frustrated—”I can’t believe I’ve done all this to save you! To save Truely! To save my children.”

“I was trying to protect [my kids] and I got criticism from you and from my boys. The worst criticism. Zero respect,” he continues. “You guys wonder why I’m mad? I’ve gone 18 months being persecuted by my own family for trying to protect them. My heart is broken. Christine left because of this.”

Janelle, 53, declares that the pair sees things “differently,” and denies that the messy family fallout was her fault.

She adds in a personal interview that she doesn’t feel the need to defend her position to Kody.

“This is the same ole argument. I don’t need to be beaten into submission, made to kowtow. I’m just not. I just don’t need this,” Janelle says.

“In the last 18 months, I’ve realized that I’m pretty good. I’m independent, and I’m not going to stand here and be yelled at,” she adds. “I just don’t need it. I don’t deserve it and I don’t need it.”

The couple confronted their relationship issues during the most recently aired episode and agreed that their marriage might not go the distance. Rumors have been circulating for months that Janelle has since walked away from the family. 

Last month, a report claimed that Christine and Janelle might be in talks for a spinoff series.

“They’re gearing towards their own show,” a source told The U.S. Sun. 

“It would be more about female empowerment like Life After Polygamy. That’s the direction they’re going in,” the insider added. 

“Separate lives from Kody and Robyn and life at home with their kids,” the tipster added. “They’re trying to build a financial empire together.”

Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
