Did Andy Cohen Direct Jeff Lewis To Go After Bethenny Frankel In Explosive ‘WWHL’?

Bethenny Frankel and Jeff Lewis got into an explosive exchange during the Dec 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live — and many believe Andy Cohen is to blame for the altercation.

“No one has a recap show for ‘Housewives,’” Jeff Lewis sarcastically told Bethenny Frankel, 52, referencing podcasts like Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge’s “Two Ts In a Pod.”

Bethenny Frankel then took a shot at Jeff, who was fired from the network, she said  “Housewives” because she “wasn’t let go by Bravo” and is not “a disgruntled employee.”

Jeff Lewis then admitted that he was “fired” from his interior design show, prompting Frankel to bite back, “Right, and that’s why you’re so bitter.”

The Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live host clapped back, “No I’m not bitter at all. I landed in a better place.”

“That’s what they all say,” Bethenny Frankel said, while rolling her eyes.

Jeff Lewis added, “No, I really did, like, I’m happy.”

Bethenny Frankel then said it was Jeff who started first, he “opened the door” to the heated conversation by saying, “Why would you do a recap like it has never been done before?” and asked the audience, “Did he shade or not shade?”

Jeff Lewis was unfazed and fired back, “Wow, someone is so defensive.”

Before Bethenny and Jeff went head-to-head, she also engaged with Andy Cohen, 54, who defended his stance on her rewatch podcast.

“I thought it was kind of hypocritical of you to [launch the podcast] because you have been trashing the ‘Housewives’ publicly for the last three years,” Andy Cohen told her and suggest they “hash out” their differences on air.

According to the Skinnygirl founder, she took issue with Andy Cohen telling her this “publicly” and offering a different opinion behind closed doors.

“What I said to you privately was, ‘Wow, I’m glad to see you are embracing the ‘Housewives,’” the Radio Andy host explained, to which Frankel responded, “Which is not the same thing you said publicly.”

She continued, “I actually haven’t been trashing the show. I said it wasn’t for me because I do think it was toxic and I’m entitled to not want to be there but still want to talk about it.”

“How could I be on for more than a decade and not have reflections to share?” the “Big Shot” alum questioned.

Bethenny appeared on seasons one through three of The Real Housewives of New York City, and later returned for Season 7. She eventually quit the series for good at the end of Season 11 in 2019.

Viewers reacted the episode on social media and many believe Andy Cohen sicced Jeff Lewis on Bethenny Frankel.

One person wrote, “It’s so obvious Andy Cohen told Jeff to go after Bethenny. This was a set up from the start.”

Another wrote, “I’m no Bethenny fan but Jeff Lewis came with instructions to attack her at Andy’s direction.”

“Well that was awkward. Jeff was on a mission from the start. Seem like this was planned by Andy to ambush Bethenny.” Someone else commented.

A fan noted, “I’m starting to think Andy doesn’t really like Bethenny and conspired with Jeff to call her out on WWHL.”

Yikes this WWHL episode with Bethenny and Jeff Lewis was hard to watch! No fun. @Andy looks very rattled, uncomfortable and can’t wait for it to end.” Someone pointed out.

Another observer stated, “The way Jeff just ATE Bethenny up on WWHL is giving me all the life I need. Andy and Jeff planned to go after the skinny girl, and I’m here for it.”
