‘RHOSLC’ RECAP: Jen Shah Suffers Drunken Blackout

During the December 7 episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, the ladies choose sides in the aftermath of Jen Shah and Angie Katsanevas’ champagne toss incident.

The group is still on a boat tour of San Diego and have separated in two groups: Jen, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks are on one deck — while Whitney Rose, Lisa Barlow, Angie, and Danna Bui-Negrete are gathered on the upper deck. Each group discuss the drama and Danna questions why the friend circle refuses to hold Jen accountable for her bad behavior.

On the lower deck, Heather throws Lisa under the bus by mentioning that Lisa took up for Angie immediately, and wasn’t there for Jen. This triggers Jen who notices that Lisa  is being too friendly with Angie. Jen says Angie was “coming at me at my most vulnerable time. You know this. F–k you, Angie. She’s fake as sh-t.”

Jen Shah swears “on my dad’s grave, I was just trying to lighten the mood” in regards to Angie’s house tour.

Angie is still not over Jen pouring champagne on her head, “That was really hurtful. I mean, it was so degrading,” Angie says. “And not even funny,” and Lisa totally agrees.

Angie tells the ladies that she feels Jen used her in regards to the $15K birthday party. “This sounds really terrible, but here she is, you know, being charged for something where she is supposedly conning people out of money,” Angie says. “She told me she’s not guilty and I’m choosing to believe her. But then somehow I got conned into paying for this entire event.” She adds, “I have the money.”

Danna Bui-Negrete adds her two cents in a talking head confessional, “I feel like a lot of the girls are either afraid, intimidated or something with Jen. I don’t like her behavior. I don’t like how she talks to people. If she can talk to friends like that, she will probably talk to me like that.”

Jen decides to confront Lisa. Jen calls Lisa fake, points her finger in her face and screams hysterically, “I had your back, when no one has!!” Jen yells at Lisa, who wraps her arms around Jen trying to calm her down and reassure her that she’s her friend but Jen is not trying to hear it and becomes unhinged. She returns to the lower deck and throws Angie shoes overboard.

At the same time, Danna Bui-Negrete, Whitney Rose, Heather Gay and Angie are busy twerking. Meanwhile, Lisa begs Jen to be her friend. Jen rejects her and  back and physically shoves her away and throws a crudite platter overboard. How did the crudite platter get in the middle of this?

Heather jokes that they should throw Angie’s purse overboard. And Jen throws Angie’s $1,500 shoes off the boat.

Later that evening, Jen Shah host a Hawaiian-themed party with fire dancers, hula dancers and a whole roasted pig for the muslim host.

Angie’s quick to throw shade, “These fire dancers are amazing. The sad thing is I’m going to have to pull them aside after and let them know they’re probably not going to get paid.”

After a fun hula lesson, and a lap dance from male dancers – the ladies sit down for dinner and the drama erupts again.

Danna is determined to get camera time and another season, so she kicks off the drama “great, but if feel like the energy’s off … and I think we need to address it.”

“I felt like you were not very nice to some of the girls.” Specifically, Angie Harrington “I think the way that you approached her and how you talk to her made me felt a little uncomfortable because I don’t know you that well.” Danna tells Jen.

Danna Bui-Negrete

Danna calls Jen out for telling Angie K. to “shut the f–k up.” Then she reveals that Heather said if Jen gave her an ultimatum about Angie H., she “would not be friends with her no more.”

Danna then gets real messy and reveals to the whole table that Angie H (who was suppose to issue a public apology to the Shah’s over her husband’s online trolling with a fake account), wants no association with Jen Shah after her fraud indictment.

“But you knew why she couldn’t do it,” Danna tells Heather. “She spoke to her legal team, and they advised her not to do it.” In a flashback shown, Angie Harrington says, “The attorney, and our PR people, were like, ‘Absolutely not.’”

Danna Bui-Negrete

Danna then tells Jen, “They don’t want any association with you.”

Danna continues to throw Heather under the bus by revealing Heather also advised Angie H. not to make a public apology the Shahs. Heather replies, “I said a public apology is ridiculous because you will be admitting to a horrible, indefensible thing that no one in the world will ever forgive you for.”

Jen Shah

Jen Shah is now giving Heather the side-eye, and Heather goes off on Danna for being “deeply invested” in drama that does not concern her.

After Angie interjects, Heather reminds her — “After the day you’ve had, I would sit there and listen. … and maybe not take an opportunity to take a side-swipe.”

Angie K. responds, “there’s a whole lot of [expletive] coming out of your mouth,” further ramping up the hostility.

Angie Katsanevas

Heather informs Angie K. that Jen threw her shoes off the boat today, and that her relationship with Jen is “good.”

Angie K. says, “I’ve been a good friend to Jen, and I don’t know if I can say that you’ve been a good friend to her.” In a confessional, Heather says, “It’s highly surprising to me that someone who’s just annihilated Jen on a sprinter van would suddenly be so concerned about her welfare and about the terms of her friendships. Like, check yourself, sister.”

According to Heather, she’s had Jen’s back and she’s been a “ride or die” friend.

“The deposits I’ve made in our friendship account should grant me a little bit of grace. And I would hope that every single person at this table would give me that same grace.” Heather tells Jen.

Heather Gay

Then Lisa reminds Jen that she’s not been a loyal friend to Heather, and a flashback video is shown of Jen saying: “Heather is my friend 60% of the time. The other 40%, I’m supposed to eat it, not say [expletive], sweep it under the rug. The point I’m at in my life, with everything I’m going through, I don’t need friends like that.”

“You’re coming at me today?” Lisa yells at Jen. “I don’t f–king deserve that.”

“When did I come at you?” A bewildered Jen says.

Lisa Barlow claps back, “Oh my God, are you kidding me?”

Lisa Barlow

In a talking head confessional, Meredith says, “I know Jen is not in a very great mental state. To be so upset and or drunk that you don’t have a recollection of what happened is not good.”

“Jen is a f–king liar. She only remembers what she feels wronged with. But it doesn’t matter what she does or says to anyone else. That’s how Jen works.” Lisa goes off in a talking head confessional over Jen’s blackout memory.

Meredith Marks

Danna inserts herself again and tells Jen that she assaulted Lisa on the boat. Jen calls Lisa “mean.”

“Trust me, if there was a class on how to be mean, like Mean 101, Jen Shaw would be the professor.”

Danna Bui-Negrete

Jen says Lisa has “an issue if anybody is friends with Heather,” which Lisa denies.

Lisa brings up the champagne dousing and Jen apologizes to Angie K. — which she accepts but not Lisa.

Once again, Lisa brings up Jen bad-mouthing Heather. Jen admits her “feelings were hurt” over Angie H. participation at Heather’s choir auditions.

Jen Shah

Heather acts clueless and says she didn’t know that Angie H. and Whitney were coming to the rehearsals in matching outfits. Jen asks Heather, “If you know somebody did something so f—ed up and evil to me or my family, are you OK being friends with them?”

Heather Gay

Heather replies, “If they’re accountable and apologize, yeah.” Jen says Chris didn’t call to apologize, “He called me because he got caught,” she says.

Heather points out that Whitney, Meredith and Danna are also friends with Angie H.

“You’re supposed to be my ride or die,” Jen tells Heather. “And guess what? That’s not ride or die,” adding that she wants Heather to “not be friends with Angie Harrington.” And Heather replies, “I’m not going to do that. … I am a ride-or-die for her as much as I’m a ride-or-die for you.”

Heather says in a talking head confessional, “When I say I’m a ride-or-die for Jen, like, I’m still f–king here. I’m still showing up when you have stabbed me in the back, when you have talked sh-t on me. I’m showing up for you in one of the darkest, hardest times of your life. And that’s all I need to do to be ride-or-die at this point.”

Heather informs Jen, “I don’t want any friends that will ever give me an ultimatum.” Jen replies, “I’m not giving anyone an ultimatum.” But then issues a final demand to Heather. “I need to know where people stand,” Jen says. “The only person I know where they are is Angie Kasanaves.”

“Hold up — Angie K.?” Heather ponders in a confessional. “The same girl who you poured champagne on her head, screamed at in the van and threw her shoes in the ocean? Is there gluten in this pig, because she’s talking crazy!”

The party begins to break up, and Heather suggests they “talk about it tomorrow,” but Jen insists they settle it now.

Heather Gay

“Guess what? Go find yourself another Heather Gay. I’m out,” Heather says as she exits the table after Lisa steps away.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Wednesday nights, at 9pm ET, on Bravo.
