Margaret Josephs Left Teresa Giudice’s Wedding Early Because of Melissa Gorga
Margaret Josephs has revealed why she made an early exit from Teresa Giudice’s wedding, amid a family beef between the bride, her brother, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Melissa Gorga.
On Monday, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star sat for a live taping of the Virtual Reali-Tea podcast at City Winery in New York City. She spilled that she cut and ran from the bash as a show of support for Joe, 47, and Melissa, 43, who had previously bailed on the event.
“I tried to do the best for all parties involved,” the Bravo star told Page Six’s Evan Real and Danny Murphy. “I wanted to be supportive of Teresa, but Melissa and Joe weren’t there, and I’m so close with them, and I couldn’t dance the night away knowing my closest friends are not doing well.”
Sources dished that Joe and Melissa made the decision to not attend the nuptials after “false rumors” about Joe and Melissa’s marriage circulated during the filming of the RHONJ finale episode. It was later revealed that Teresa, 50, had allegedly spread a rumor that Melissa had once cheated on her brother with actor, Nick Barrotta. Joe and Melissa shrugged off the rumor, citing their longtime friendship with Barrotta, per a report by Page Six.
Margaret was involved in the messy drama according to Laura Marasca Jensen, the woman who mentioned the cheating rumor to the RHONJ cast.
“I was told about this [by Josephs],” Marasca Jensen told Page Six, in August.
She claimed that Margaret had been “gossiping” about Melissa and Barrotta for years.
“My intention was never for anyone or their families to be hurt,” Marasca Jensen added. “The intention was for me to talk to Melissa alone and let her know what was being said about her because I felt I was probably not the only one that knew. I didn’t think Margaret only told me [the rumor].”
Margaret did not comment on the rumor during her podcast appearance. An insider told Page Six that Marasca Jensen interviewed for a cast spot on RHONJ three times, with no success. The source implied that her goal was to stir up drama to make it on the Bravo show.
Teresa spoke out about Joe and Melissa’s wedding day diss during an August episode of her podcast.
“Listen, I found out a few days before my wedding that they weren’t coming, and I’m totally fine with it,” she said on “Namaste B$tches.”
The Bravo star added— “The way that everything played out with my wedding, everything that happened is the way it was supposed to be. I’m all about that… I’m all about good energy, and whoever wanted to be at my wedding was there.”
