Lindsay Hubbard Speaks Out After ‘Winter House’ Star Disses Her Looks
Lindsay Hubbard has addressed comments made by Winter House stars who dissed her looks while comparing her to cast member Jessica Stocker.
Lindsay and her fiancé, Carl Radke, visited the group in Vermont during Season 2 of the Bravo show, and several cast members pointed out that newbie, Jessica Stocker, resembled Lindsay. Lindsay, 36, even joked that producers recruited a “younger, hotter version” of herself because she’s off the market.
Jessica, 25, didn’t appreciate the comparison, admitting that she was a “little shocked” to be linked to the Summer House alum.
“[Lindsay] looks a lot older than me, so when people are like ‘Oh you remind me of Lindsay’… like she could be my mom or my aunt. Like what do you mean by that?” Jessica said in a confessional spot.
Jessica had noted in the past that her looks are an attention-grabber, and even labeled some of her co-stars high school mean girls for freezing her out when she joined Winter House.
“I do feel like I walk in the room and I’m not always noticed or complimented,” Jessica said in one episode.
However, Lindsay believes that the Bravo rookie should feel flattered by the comparison. She spoke out about Jessica during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, last month.
“I was like, ‘Dude, this girl said she wanted compliments!’” the Hubb House PR told the outlet. “I think it’s quite a compliment to be compared to me, not even just for my physical appearance. I have a pretty fun personality. She should have taken it as a compliment.”
Lindsay added that her self-confidence allows her to shrug off Jessica’s diss.
“I don’t really get upset if somebody kind of slams, or disses, my looks or appearance,” she explained. “That doesn’t upset me. I’m like, ‘Oh, OK… good one,’ you know? Like I have a pretty solid self-confidence. So I just don’t care. It just never bothers me.”
Jessica was filmed complaining about the comparison while driving in a car with co-star, Craig Conover. She responded to the common cast opinion by remarking—“I didn’t think she was that cute.”
Craig admitted that he believed that his co-stars did not act out of kindness.
“What do you think I said the entire time?” Craig told Jessica. “The guys kept saying that you look like her, and I was like ’That’s not the nicest thing.’”
Both Jessica and Craig were hit with negative social media feedback for taking shots at Lindsay’s appearance.
One person tweeted—“I’m sorry… Craig and Jessica are saying it’s not a compliment to be called a Lindsay look alike? They must be blind.”
