90 Day Fiance’s David Toborowsky Training To Become A Monk

90 Day Fiancé star David Toborowsky has decided to become a monk and his journey will all be documented on the TLC reality series.

The 90 Day Fiancé star made the life-changing decision during a trip to Thailand with his wife, Annie Suwan, who is not confident that her husband fully understands the undertaking of a monk lifestyle.

90 Day Fiancé cameras will be on hand to capture the entire and will be featured in the upcoming season of David & Annie: After the 90 Days.

To become a monk you need to be a confirmed and practising Catholic, a man over the age of 18, in good mental and physical health, if possible involved in the life of your parish or something similar, unmarried, with no dependents.

“I’ve always felt that I’ve had a connection to Asia,” David Toborowsky reveals to his kids in a clip of the upcoming episode of David & Annie: After the 90 Days. “And if you remember from last season, when we went to the fortune teller and she said that you’re the great-grandson of the Naga Ping, which is a mystical creature of the Mekong River. I’ve always felt it.”

When expanding on the experience, David noted, “I think that most people don’t realize what Buddhist monks — what they really sacrifice.”

In the scene, David Toborowsky, 54, explains to his American kids what the process of monkhood would entail. His plan to become a monk won’t be a life-long commitment to the religion, just a tribute to Thai culture by going through the process.

His daughter questions David’s recent hair transplant since shaving his head and eyebrows are requirements of the process. “It will grow out, God willing,” he says.

“My dad can be a little vain, so the fact that he’s ready to shave his head and eyebrows is a little shocking.” David’s daughter tells cameras.

To David, she added, “He just woke up one day and decided to be a monk?” Annie, 30, responded, “Exactly! That’s what I thought!”

“No sex. No drink. Eat only two times a day. Not allowed to wear the shoes. No perfume. No underwear. Sleep at the temple.” Annie explains the full scope of becoming a monk to David. “And, you know, be a monk [sic] you can’t jack off,” she told him.

“Let me put it in this way, it’s very, very interesting,” Annie said, noting that she had to explain David’s sudden decision to nearly everyone around them.

“But as a wife, whatever you want to do, whatever you want to be, I’m going to support you as much as I can,” Annie added.

In the upcoming episode, David invites his daughter and granddaughter to join them on his trip to Thailand to finally meet Annie’s family. The upcoming season will showcase an official joining of David and Annie’s family as they attempt to bring two of Annie’s teen family members to America.

David & Annie: After the 90 Days premieres Monday, at 10 p.m. ET, on TLC.
