Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill Ask Court To Seal Divorce Records To Hide “Embarrassing Acts” and Protect The “Moral Character” Of ONE of The Parties Involved

Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill are close to finalizing their divorce, and the former couple are taking extreme measures to keep their dirty laundry private.

Real Housewives of Atlanta alum, 55, and Mike Hill , 52, reached a settlement in their divorce on December 1, and filed a motion to seal all the records in the case, to hide “embarrassing acts,” and to protect the “moral character,” of ONE of the parties in the divorce.

The divorce settlement is pretty straight forward. The couple will not pay each other alimony. They’re no division of properties — Cynthia will keep possession of her Georgia home (Lake Bailey), and the Fox Sports anchor will keep his California home.

They will not split their retirement accounts, bank accounts or insurance policies. The only point of contention for the pair is privacy — and keeping the hanky-panky that took place in their relationship a secret from the public.

Their lawyers filed a motion on December 1, requesting to seal future records, stating that they are “public figures” and have a “grave interest in protecting both their privacy interest and mental health.”

“The parties assert that there are certain private matters concerning the dissolution of their marriage which may raise issues concerning both the moral character and embarrassing acts of one of the parties,” the motion states.

“These facts are perceived to have a strong probability of potentially adversely compromising one of both parties reputation, image, business dealings, and will significantly harm the parties mentally, psychologically, financially and emotionally.”

According to court documents, the judge has not signed off the agreement, so the couple is not divorced. Another hearing is scheduled on January 5, 2023.

Whatever the “embarrassing acts” may be, the couple has put on a united front to appear civil in the split. The former couple released a friendly joint statement on social media in early October to announce their split.

“LOVE is a beautiful thing. While we both will always have love for one another, we have decided to go our separate ways,” the statement read.

“We are grateful that we remain good friends, and will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife.”

Mike Hill has been married two times, Cynthia Bailey was his third marriage. The sports reporter opened up about being unfaithful in previous relationships. He claimed that therapy helped him end his cheating ways.

“There was a lot of counseling that I needed. It’s a lot of therapy that I needed that I didn’t know that I needed because there was a stigma in the community about seeking help,” he said. “You can have something inside of you that’s eating you alive and not know it.”

Cynthia Bailey even questioned Mike’s ability to be faithful considering his history of cheating in prior relationships.

“He has cheated on his wives before me. What makes me so different?” She wondered during a talking head confessional in Season 13.
