Chloe Chrisley’s Mother Wants To Regain Custody After Todd and Julie’s Prison Sentence
A custody battle is brewing between Todd and Julie Chrisley, and the biological mother of their adopted daughter, Chloe Chrisley.
Chloe Chrisley’s mother wants to regain custody of her child after the couple were sentenced to prison for a combined 19 years.
Chloe’s parents are Todd and Julie’s son, Kyle Chrisley and Angela Johnson. Angela aired out the family’s dirty laundry with TMZ, and she’s making it clear that she wants full custody of her 10-year-old daughter.
The paperwork has not been filed “as of right now” to become Chloe’s guardian again, she told outlet on Monday that she is “in the process” of it.
Angela Johnson, 31, explained that she wants to “go back to court to get Chloe back home.”
“I want her home. She deserves to be home. … I’m her biological mom. I didn’t walk away from her. I was pushed out of her life.” An emotional Angela shared.
Kyle Chrisley and Angela Johnson welcomed Chloe on November 10, 2012. And Chloe was legally adopted by Todd and Julie Chrisley when she was a baby.
Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, previously shared custody of Chloe, 10, with her biological mother in 2014 amid the their son Kyle’s struggles with drug addiction and bipolar disorder.
In 2016, Todd and Julie was granted full custody after Angela Johnson was arrested for filing a false application for Medicaid assistance.
Kyle Chrisley thanked his parents in an August Facebook post that year, writing, “I haven’t been the best dad to Chloe, I’ve had a problem with drugs, I’ve acted completely ridiculous and through all that, they have stood by my side.”

Todd and Julie were indicted on tax evasion charges. The couple, who also share kids Lindsie, 33, Chase, 26, Savannah, 25, and Grayson, 16, denied the allegations. In June, the TV personalities were found guilty of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud and conspiracy. Julie was ordered to seven years in prison while her husband was issued a 12-year prison sentence.
Savannah Chrisley confirmed that she will assume custody of Chloe and Grayson, while her parents serve their prison sentence.
“[I”m] trying to navigate how you teach two younger children who aren’t fully developed yet and get them to understand the circumstances,” she explained on her “Unlocked” podcast. “That’s a really, really difficult thing.”
Since Kyle Chrisley’s split from Angela, Kyle has gone on to marry Alexus Whilby and Ashleigh Nelson in 2014 and 2021, respectively.
