On Monday’s episode of The View, Joy Behar forgot to put her phone on silent while they were filming. What ended up happening was Joy’s phone rang in the middle of a segment and began playing cheerful Fleetwood Mac music that could be heard all over the studio. Joy, 80, snapped, “Oh my God. Turn it off! Stop it!”

Sara Haines, 40, who was seated next to her tried to turn off the ringtone but failed to do so. This prompted co host Sunny Hostin to step in. She grabbed the phone and stormed off set with the device.

Three days after the phone incident, Whoopi Goldberg opened the episode by talking about the death of Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie and honoring her legacy. Behar responded to the topic by bringing up the incident.

“The other day, it’s a funny thing, my phone went off, and it caused a lot of — oh, this one went bananas and took my phone and hid it,” Joy said while pointing at Sunny before adding, “It was on air! And you know what they were playing? “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. It was almost like a ghost story.”

Hostin defended her actions, “It was a lot of music though on air.” The View co-host had taken things into her own hands that Monday after Sarah, 45, began panicking. She tried to wave the phone in front of Behar face so it would unlock. “I need your face.” After Sunny, 54, stormed off the set with the phone, Joy did her best to get the show back on track.

In her efforts to do so, Joy asked Ana Navaro about her recent COVID health scare, but she wasn’t ready to move on. Ana responded, “Hold on, I think I’ll talk about Covid after we get the music thing under control!” After this answer, Behar turned to the show’s producer and said, “Brian, I’m sorry! I have no control over technology.” Moments later, Sunny returned on set with a strained smile on her face.

Like Hostin, fans weren’t happy with the on-air mistakes. One fan tweeted, “Millions of dollars and still no one to make sure everyone’s phone is on silent for just 1 hour.”Another added, “Joy’s phone goes off right as they get to the table. Gonna be a good week guys! I can feel it..?”
