Married ‘Good Morning America’ Hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes Steamy Affair Started Months Ago

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have been seeing each other long before their vacation photos leaked on social media.

Good Morning America co-anchors, Amy, 49, and Holmes, 45, have never hidden their chemistry while on screen, so some fans weren’t shocked when photos of the two together surfaced. The two anchors who are “happily married,” shut down their Instagram accounts after they were spotted at a bar in upstate New York and holding hands in a car. In one of the photos first posted by The Daily Mail, Holmes was holding on to Amy’s ass as she put items in the trunk of a car. The news outlet claims the co-anchors’ friendship turned romantic in June. 

A source told Daily Mail that Holmes and Amy, who both got married in 2010, ended their relationships with their spouses in August of this year. Amy is married to actor Andrew Shue while Holmes is married to attorney Marilee Fiebig.

An insider at Good Morning America told PEOPLE that the co-anchor colleagues were shocked to see the photos, but they saw it coming because the duo’s chemistry has been on display in the office for a while. They also said rumors that T.J. and Amy were having an affair began over a year ago — the evidence has just surfaced now. 

“A lot of people believed there might have been some truth to it because you can see there’s a mutual affection there. But everyone ultimately chalked it up to friendship because they always said they were both happily married,” the insider added.

Before the photos came out, Robach spoke about her close friendship with Holmes and even said they went on double dates with their spouses. “The moment he started at ABC, I think we just clicked. We’ve gone on tons of double dates with our spouses and my daughters babysit his daughter.”

Holmes joined the team of anchors at Good Morning America in 2014, and he immediately had a close connection with Amy. Robach told PEOPLE at the time how she found out she was going to work with him. “[They] said, ‘Hey, we want to bring on a co-anchor. What do you think of T.J. Holmes?’ And I almost fell out of my chair,” she said.

Robach has shared photos of herself with Holmes outside the office before. She posted a photo with her arms around Holmes in March 2021 as they trained for the New York marathon.
