Julie Chrisley Breaks Silence After Shocking Prison Sentence
Julie Chrisley broke her silence during an appearance on her daughter Savannah Chrisley’s podcast.
On Monday’s episode of the Unlocked podcast, Savannah and Julie, 49, spoke about how the legal drama has been affecting the family, especially the kids. Savannah, 25, told her mother that their youngest, Chloe, is fully aware of everything. Chloe, who was adopted by Todd and Julie, is the couple’s grandchild from their estranged son, Kyle.
Todd, 53, and Julie were convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and tax fraud, in June. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie was sentenced to 7 years in prison, and both of them got 16 months probation.
Savannah said in the pre-recorded episode, “She listens more than you think. She’ll put on her headphones and act like she is listening to something when, in reality, nothing’s on. So you think she’s listening.”
Julie replied, “When really she’s just listening to the conversation.” Savannah said Chloe knows about everything and is dealing with it in her own way. Julie added that Chloe is dealing with everything with the help of therapists. Julie also said that even though Chloe isn’t her biological child, she considers the 10-year-old her daughter.
The Chrisley Knows Best star said every child that has been adopted has biological parents. “That doesn’t mean that we aren’t her parents. She is ours. She is our daughter. She is not our granddaughter. She is our daughter, which makes her your sister,” Julie noted.
Julie also stressed to Savannah that family isn’t who you’re tied to biologically through DNA. “It’s who you choose it to be and it’s who love you like a family should love you,” she said.

In an earlier episode, Savannah opened up about how she will have custody over her niece, Chloe, and her brother, Grayson, 17. Savannah spoke on navigating raising the two after Todd and Julie go to prison to serve their sentences.
“I have to be a positive role model for Chloe and Grayson. No matter how hard it gets, I have to show up,” she said in last week’s podcast episode. She added, “I think that’s the hard part, I think there’s a level of guilt too for myself, knowing that Chloe and Grayson aren’t going to have that same feeling, of, ‘Are Mom and Dad going to be home tonight?'”
