In a preview of her Namaste B$tches podcast, Teresa Guidice and her husband, Luis Ruelas, spoke about their relationship with Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa. Luis, 47, said during the podcast that he and Joe got along well when they first met.

He said, “I met Joe through coincidence with Teresa and it was very humbling and settling. The first moment I met Joe, I would even say both of us became very vulnerable within the first 10 minutes of the conversation.” Ruelas also said Joe was nice and very easy to talk to.

Luis said he and Joe spoke about his “work as a man, working through sh*t, and all that stuff, like, you just like open up to him. Joe’s the kind of guy you can do that to, or with.”

Teresa’s husband also praised Joe, adding, “Joe, at the core, really, your brother, honestly, at the core … your brother really is … a good human being.” In the preview, Teresa echoed her husband’s sentiments. “When you first met him, everything was good, right?” she asked.

Teresa and Joe’s relationship has been strained for years and this year things only got worse.

During the season 12 reunion of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa and Joe got into a heated argument after she called him a “bitch boy” and compared him to a Housewife. Melissa and Joe didn’t attend Teresa and Luis’ August wedding after rumors began spreading.

A source claimed Joe and his wife stepped away from the ceremony two days before because a rumor about an affair in their marriage surfaced while filming. The source said, “Teresa betrayed them in a way that’s unforgivable. They’re not going to celebrate Teresa’s new marriage when all she does is try to tear apart theirs.”

Joe addressed his decision not to attend Teresa and Luis’ wedding on the Melissa Gorga On Display podcast. He said it hurt him so much not to attend, especially when he is Teresa’s only close family that’s still alive.

“To me, it was devastating. It really was. It was one of the hardest days of my life. It was bad,” Joe said. He added, “But listen: let’s go back to the reunion. She did this, you know? This was all on her. This is what she really wanted. She didn’t want [Melissa] in the wedding, she didn’t want any of my children in the wedding, she barely wanted me.”
