Ex-RHOA Co-Stars NeNe Leakes and Kandi Burruss Hug It Out, Make Amends At Porsha Williams’ Wedding
NeNe Leakes and former Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Kandi Burruss, made amends over the weekend at Porsha Williams’ wedding, Radar Online reports.
NeNe and Kandi were reportedly cordial during Porsha’s ceremony and reception, acknowledging each other during their pal’s big day.
Kandi announced that they had buried their issues during an Amazon Live session on Monday. The singer/songwriter revealed that they even hugged it out the day after Porsha tied the knot with Simon Guobadia.
“NeNe was very nice to me!” Kandi excitedly told her followers. “We spoke, we shook hands.”
“We definitely be having our ups and downs,” Kandi admitted, before sharing about their affectionate exchange the next day.
“And then guess what? I ended up running into her again yesterday — the very next day — and we hugged it out,” Kandi said, seemingly shocked. “Look at God!”

The Jasmine Brand posted the clip of Kandi sharing the news about the revived friendship, and NeNe cheered the video in the comment section. The Bravo veteran posted a series of raised hands, cosigning Kandi’s story.
The former castmates have been at odds for years. NeNe called foul on Bravo for not giving her a spin-off show like various other Atlanta ‘Housewives,’ despite her large fanbase. NeNe did not identify Kandi specifically, but Kandi called out NeNe for her remarks during the most recent RHOA reunion. NeNe also accused Kandi of calling her a racial slur, which she denied.
In April, NeNe filed a lawsuit against Bravo, NBCUniversal, Andy Cohen, True Entertainment, and Truly Original. NeNe claimed that she was ousted after she told executives that her former co-star, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, made racist remarks while filming the show. NeNe also stated that Cohen and the network went on to “blacklist” and “sabotage her attempts to secure work beyond RHOA.”
Kandi did not agree with NeNe’s assessment, which only fueled the conflict.
Kandi addressed the pair’s discord, in June.
“No, we don’t talk. We don’t have a good relationship in that sense,” she told ET when asked about her relationship with NeNe. “I don’t know what the future would hold, but as of now, we don’t have a good relationship, so we don’t communicate.”
In October, NeNe sat for an interview with Larry Reid and was asked about her beef with Kandi.
NeNe responded—“No. I mean honestly, I don’t have an issue with Kandi. This is the God’s honest truth. I really feel she has an issue with me. And I don’t want to speak too much about what I think the issue is cause I think she has an issue with me.”
NeNe added that Kandi didn’t like that she was more popular with Bravo viewers.
She said — “Feel like I was noticed a lot. A lot of people, I’m not saying this, people say it, ‘When we think of The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ they think of NeNe. And I think things like that didn’t sit well with her.”
