Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Reach Divorce Settlement And Custody Agreement
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West finalized their divorce on Monday (November 28). The couple also resolved child custody and property-related issues.
Per court documents, Kim and Kanye will share joint custody of their four kids — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. However, sources close to Kim say that she will continue to have the kids most of the time, as Kanye has acknowledged in the past.
Back in September, Kanye admitted that Kim has their kids “80 percent of the time” after he suggested their kids split their education between their school in L.A. and his Donda Academy.
Ye explained — “She’s still gotta 80 percent of the time raise those children, so what people saw when I was going back and forth is I have to be able to throw my version of what people would throw […] to the curriculum because my parents were able to do that to me.”
The settlement also states that Ye will have to pay Kim $200,000 a month in child support. He’s also responsible for 50 percent of the kids’ educational expenses and 50 percent of the kids’ security expenses. If the ex-couple ever has a dispute regarding any of their children, they agree to participate in mediation. If either of them fails to show up, the participating parent gets to make the decision in a dispute by default.
Kim and Kanye’s property assets were divided in accordance with their prenup agreement.
Last December, Kanye purchased a $4.5 million house next door to Kim after she filed for divorce. Now, he’s decided to give it up in the settlement and will transfer the title of the home to Kim. Kim will keep the property she owns in Idaho and the $60 million estate where she lives with the kids.
Kim filed for divorce in February 2021 after seven years of marriage. Kanye refused to engage, stalling the marriage, until last March when Kim went to court to get an official decree.
They both waived spousal support.
Kanye recently put former president Donald Trump on blast for insulting his ex-wife.
According to Kanye, Trump claimed to have gotten criminal justice reform advocate and former federal prisoner, Alice Johnson, out of prison because of his friendship with Ye and not because of Kim, as everyone believed.
“He didn’t do it for Kim, he did it for me.” Not only that, as per Kanye, the former president also hurled several insults at Kim, which he repeated, as heard in the video, and finished by saying, “You can tell her I said that.”
A shocked Kanye said, “But that’s the mother of my children.”
