Valerie Bertinelli Has To Pay Ex Husband $2 Million In Divorce
Valerie Bertinelli, has agreed to pay her ex-husband, Tom Vitale, more than $2 million amid their divorce settlement.
According to court documents, the Food Network star finalized her divorce from her ex husband on November 22, 2022.
Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale got married in 2011 but the actress filed for legal separation in November 2021 citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’
Valerie agreed to pay Tom $2.2 million as part of their divorce agreement. This amount is in addition to $500,000 that she transferred to her ex on May 24, 2022. Tom must vacate Valerie’s Malibu mansion by December 31, as long as she pays him the agreed upon amount.
The documents also states, the financial planner can stay in the home rent free if Valerie fails to pay him the settlement amount by the end of the year.
As per the former couple’s pre-nup agreement, neither Tom nor Valerie will pay each other spousal support. The docs also stipulate that if Tom desires to stay at his ex’s LA residence after the payout he would have to pay a monthly rent of $50,000.
The actress celebrated her divorce with a video to her social media. “The papers are all signed. They’re about to be filed. On 11/22/22, I am officially f–king divorced,” she continued to say, “Happily divorced. Finally. It’s finally over.” Press play below to watch.
On Twitter, the actress star captioned the video, “11.22.22 second best day of my life.” Valerie also liked several comments talking about her divorce from Tom, one of them read, “Congratulations on ending that MoFo’s gravy train ride and double congrats on your new found freedom!! Enjoy your visit with Wolfie!! Happy Thanksgiving to Y-O-U!!” She also liked another tweet from her followers that read, “He must have put you through hell. Glad you’re free now! Enjoy life.’ The two finalized their divorce after 10 years of marriage.
Valerie and Tom met in 2004 after being introduced through her brother Patrick. They dated for six years before getting married in 2011.
Valerie Bertinelli was previously married to the late Eddie Van Halen who she tied the knot to in 1981. While together they welcomed a son, Wolfgang, in 1991 before their separation in 2001 and finalized their divorce in December 2007.
